Forums - Sales Discussion - UK Charts Week Ending 13 September 2014 (Destiny #1, PS4 46%)

I don't find that 10% to be disparaging between the PS4/XOne as the UK & NA are the only two markets that the Xbox brand is showing some kind of life.

It is very interesting that 360 owners are still buying whilst PS3 owners aren't. This clearly indicates that more PS3 owners have jumped to next gen sooner.

Also.

VGC console ratio PS4:XB1 1.5:1

Destiny ratio PS4:XB1 1.27:1

Along with the recent information on total software and the resultant tie ratio's, means that either ONE owners buy far more software or the ONE is undertracked. Probably the former, for now.

Are you implying that when the 360 owners upgrade it'll boost the XOne? Who's to say they don't go for PS4 or even the WiiU?

I expected more than 10% difference, but a win is still a win :)

Looking at the UK chart the PS4 is selling lots of other software as well as Destiny. 6 PS4 games in the top 15, while XBO only has Destiny. In the top 40 it's 11 vs 6, so overall I think PS4 users are buying lots of different titles, while MS users are generally buying only the big titles in. So i think this win is even better when you look at things as a whole.

I never initially caught that when I glanced through the charts, provides a lot of perspective.

Yeah it's surprising  to me also. It would suggest that PS4 as a whole sells a wider range of titles in destiny launch week, and XBox users were perhaps waiting for Destiny more, but even so it still didnt beat the PS4 version.... and this was in a week when Xbox was giving away destiny and an additional free game with the console.

Well thats also the key, in europe and the rest of the world it's going to be more skewed to PS4, Destiny is only available on PS4 in Japan (though it may only sell 30k?)

Possibly but I think Destiny can push 10k - 15k PS4's in Japan, a miniscule number but's its an improvement. Also I'm really intrigued to see how much of a boost the PS4 got. 500k+ WW?

Id love to know what the digital download numbers are!

Is the ps4 version selling above xbox version in places where xbox one is still relevant, I can't imagine how everything will be in the rest of the world.

I'm confident it will win with bundles included but not so sure without it

Do we have rough numbers for Destiny? I must say I am disappointed there are no numbers with the article, other than the split. I wanted some hint of hardware numbers.

Nice to see kowen's magnificent return.

GAF estimates at 400k.

That seems a bit low, especially since Watch Dogs opened with 389k.

he he he u r joking right? watch dogs was the biggest entry of a new ip in uk. destiny just took the crown
