Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do You Still Consider Bungie One of The Top Developers?

So lets look at the start of last gen,

Bungie came out with Halo 3, which was arguably one of the best Halo games, I'd say people tend to back and forth between this and Halo 2.  I'd even go as far to say one of the best FPS's of all time.

Then things start looking bad, they come out with ODST which I think is seen as the worst Halo game in the series, but hey its only one bad game they deserve a free pass after all the amazing games they've come out with.

Then comes Halo Reach, which was no doubt better than ODST imo, but still not as good as 1-3.  Some people loved it, some thought it was good, but nothing special, I didn't really hear many say they hated it like with ODST.

Now we get Destiny, which is kinda getting the same reaction as Halo Reach, some love it, some think its okay, but nothing special.  Its getting more hate than Reach, but I think that's mostly because of the massive hype and expectations that this game had.

So which side of the fence are you on, do u love all their recent games and still think they are one of the best, or do u think they are coming out with okay-good games that are nothing special?  Imo I don't think Bungie will ever make anymore master pieces like they did with Halo 1-3, they seem to have lost their touch and I'm glad they are no longer making Halo games, 343 seems like the better choice to me.

For some reason I think Activision forced them to segment the game. But yea, this doesn't look good on their record.

Not anymore although its hard to tell whether this was Bungie's Vision or if Activision had their claws on Bungie the entire time so maybe

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

They're still special

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I haven't played Destiny yet, but personally I thought Reach was just as good as the first Halo.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

So if Destiny came out with more content do you think it would be as good as Halo 1-3?

Ya some really liked it.  There's no right or wrong, I'm just curious to see what the general opinion of Bungie is now.

I never did.

They're a top developer with no want to create anything but shooters.... But they don't want to make Halo....

Let's face it, they're a confused company that needs direction. I'm sure they'll be fine, Destiny made a ton of cash. They just need to get out of their comfort zone, or go back to the comfort zone of Halo.

The Halo trilogy and Reach were all very good. ODST was garbage.

I think Destiny is pretty good.

So as of now; I think they're still a top developer.
