Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario Party franchise FORCED to use party bus going forward?

This is my only hope for no vehicle in MP10 normal 4P mode.

Sounds realistic to me. Companies are forced to abandon useful technology all the time because of stupid patents. For instance, Apple patented the magnetic power cord so that if someone kicks the cord, the whole computer won't smash against the ground. Now no other computer can use that other than apple because no one wants to pay apple royalties.

Not to mention the sh*tstorm of idiotic patents out there. Why do you think patent lawsuits is one of the worlds most profitable businesses. The legal system around it is a complete mess.

So yea, this makes perfect sense to me.

Patent sounds a bit iffy to me, later MP games by Hudson didn't even use the 20 coins to get a star thing for the most part, each board was different.

All of these Mario Party games are enough to give someone a Mario hangover. My face feels so good on the cold porcelain toilet.  Why did I ever get on that party bus?

1. This already sounds stupid from the outset.
2. I really, really want the Hudson Soft Mario Party games...

You mean you want the classic move-independently-around-the-board way you played when hudson developed the game or..?

I don't see how you could patent that, especially the traversing because then would that affect other boardgames such as Monopoly, Talismen, etc that were released on PC and such?

Idk

I originally thought that Bowser Party was the mode with the car and Mario Party would be the classic mode but I have a funny feeling that the Mario Party mode will still have the car but just WITHOUT bowser.

I feel like the new devs would've clarified everything already because there are a lot of people who do not prefer the car gameplay.

The bus was a different change and didnt seem as fun as the original gameplay but the bus did make the game go faster whereas sometimes the original gameplay would go on for quite some time.

You would assume Nintendo would own all such gameplay patents (if not necessarily intellectual properties associated with 2nd-party games)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

sounds like BS but i agree and wish they all traveled seperate like the old games
