Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Both 3DS And Wii U Are Performing Poorly In The US. What Can Be Done?

the OP asked what can be done - price drop.

Super Smash Bros should change that. I saw so many people that made a living out of selling demo codes.

yeah lets just wait until 2017 or 2016 see if nintendo makes fusion console uber powerful(like more powerful than ps5 and xbox 2) see also what there 1st party offerings will be(I recommend a mario kart at launch) see if they are gonna try to get 3rd party support and get like exclusive stuff(like do what sony did make waqtch dogs, destiny, etc. basically a excluisve to the consumer's eyes)
first step I would do is pay for an exclusive from ubisoft(far cry * or assasins creed something anyone) and advertise that everywhere.
That should help sales.

Bets:

(Won)Bet with TechoHobbit: He(Techno) says 10 million by January 1,2014 I say 9 million by then. Winner gets 2 weeks of sig control.

(Lost)Bet with kinisking: I say Ps4 will win April NPD while he says Xbox One will win it; winner gets 1 week of avatar control.

Raichu's First Series:

First RPG?

First Fighter?

First Racer?

First Shooter?

First MMO?

First Horror?

Official Ni No Kuni Fanboy:

Familiars Captured:37

Game Beaten: 2 times almost

Times I got teary during some scenes: 3

For the Wii U? Nothing, the magic conch said it best.

For the 3DS? Stop focusing on the other pile of trash so you can start making games for a system that actually has a userbase and some cred. The new revision will help, but only if a new game that actually matters is released alongside it.

nothing.
just keep doing good software for loyal costumers and keep us happy.

Nintendo wont sell good numbers, but the most important is to apeal its restricted audience. If they loose the fans, they will be doomed forever!

its funny when people say wait for holidays, the fact that we have to wait for holidays to see decent sales just proves the OP's point

it really needed a big game for the summer, had Smash not been delayed then we would probably see pretty strong August/September but now they are gonna be some of the worst months ever for 3DS.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

They'll be fine. Wii u won't out sell the Xbox one or ps4 but it'll do just fine. I can't wait to pick one up

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

3DS: Nintendo needs to bring much more Japanese games to the west, they should double their effort to translate games, especially JRPGs including all Dragon Quest / DQM titles, price cut

Wii-U: drop the tablet or redesign it and make it smaller and less heavy, price cut

Both systems should remove region lock immediately, since we live in a globalised world and region lock hurts the customer, decreases the value of a console and prevents people from buying games they are interested in. Region lock is just stupid and hurts Nintendo as well as the customer.

interesting, PS4 seemed to be doing fine in the summer. Dont recall a big game releasing in June/July/August

3DS has problems that stem beyond its month to month library. It has tons of games already available too.

There's a bigger problem there than the release schedule.

And Tomodachi was a pretty big game release that's done surprisingly well and that did launch in June.
