Forums - Politics Discussion - Why is the American government/ Empire so keen on war all the time?

That's why I like Mexico and The Philippines better.

Armies of Iraq and Afghanistan? You mean the rag tag group of terrorists right? all they do is hit and run like cowards.

Less cowardly than air strikes from unmanned drones.

It's a military weapon and it's doing what it was designed to do.  But you can call it cowardly if you like

Hey whatever it takes to win but calling people on the ground fighting the US army cowardly because they use hit and run tactics is so bullshit when the US uses unmanned drones.

Personnally if unmanned drones were used against my country's army I would hope  our governments responce would be a nuclear strike on the government of the country who ordered it.

Well if a country that has drones attacks your country then they likely have nukes also and would fire said nukes back at your country. Assuring both countries were destroyed anyway.

i think something people need to ask themselves is this

america is and has been the most powerful country on earth with regards to military power for a long time now

so why would any country seek out a conflict with a country that has the power to take them out?

and when we look back at history conflicts generally are not initiated by weaker countries but by larger countries who have something to gain on the other hand start conflicts

actually that's how america was formed in the first place when you think about it

So in response to use the of an unmanned drone, you'd use the most destructive weapon on earth? An act that would not only kill thousands to millions of innocent people, but would give the US strong motivation to nuke you back?

You must be fun at parties ^^;

I didn't fund anything related to ISIS or ISIL whatever they go by now. Also touche about Americans using hit and run tactics against the British in our fight for freedom

Tax money, thus you funded it or at least your parents...

Considering I don't have a job I couldn't fund it, and it's not like the American people are given a choice on how that tax money is spent.

Why isnt it a thing tho? Its democracy right? lets just all decide to make a long list and check the boxes we want.  Politician income/wages/salary  [] War [] Healthcare [X] Education [X] etc etc.

Seriously the government works for me so I decide how much money everyone should earn and how they spend the money i give them to work with.  I mean lets say you work for a company and you are given a budget of X to do something you cant just go and do whatever you want with the money.

There is a cool movie its called stranger than fiction  there is 1 woman that does not pay 100% of her taxes she pays everything but the percentage that is used for stuff she disagrees with.

And if you don't the country that uses unmanned drones will keep using them killing your citizens with no consequence's.

Do you no why no US nuclear powered aircraft carrier has ever been attacked? because the US government has always said there responce would be multiple nuclear strikes on the country that did.

Better dead than under the control of a foreign power.

America is so ridiculously peaceful when you consider our military budget. Immortal Technique in a song said the United States has a "defense budget of world conquest proportions" and it's true. Almost 37% of the entire world's military expenditures belong to the US. We spent 640 billion in 2013.

Anyway, here's the current reason we're purging the middle east for the rest of the world.

"If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven." - Barrack Obama (Sept. 10, 2014)

I expected to hear an eagle cry and for fireworks to go off outside the window behind him when he said that during his speech Wednesday night.

Afghanistan and Iraq cost in the range of $3 to $4 trillion at a time when taxes went down and a property bubble started to form. No wonder debt is so high now. Couldn't of happened at a worse time.

War is just a wasteful drain on the economy and Obama is insane so. No one threats the current most powerful country in the world without being provoked. Obama's speech was pure patriotic propaganda

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

I think its funny that you say that as ISIS goes around killing innocents, women and children included.

Yes, *shackefist* that mean US government and their wars! Of course, said government wants something at the end aswell, because what is a nice fight without a reward at the end. We as gamers know that well.
