Forums - Microsoft Discussion - If Microsoft bought Mojang, would they ruin it like they did with RARE?

I really hope they DO NOT buy Mojang, they would end up just like Rare. Also I do not think 2B$ is a good investment for a company with only one successful game

Most likely.

How can you ruin a game with already bad coding... for consoles they'll probably ruin it... though consoles is not that great as is but for PC, hopefully the coding and such will be greatly improved.

It is a dumb move, on one companies end, because Mojang is truly one hit wonder and that one hit isn't worth the future value of 2 billion (Unless the value is greatly reduced to 10% of that).

There are many things that could go horribly wrong, but there are also many potential benefits.

One could be that maybe they'd create an updated version of MC that doesn't use fucking Java ¬_¬ *grumbles*

Yes I've said this before also, 2 billion for a one hit wonder company...

So many more companies out there that are a better option than Mojang.

Wow, for a moment I thought I made this thread! That's exactly what I was thinking!

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

I hope they don't go through on the buy.. 2 Billion MS? Are you serious?

What a waste if this ends up to be true.

Yes, they would. And have 2 Billion less money.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Well not to mention that Notche or what ever his name is, the only known developer in the group would be leaving. This is usually the start of the ruin where the talent bails. I forgot where I read this.
