Because if it's a 10 year project they'll need those 10m players to keep playing and come back to buy the future DLC otherwise they'll lose money in the end, if those players aren't as impressed as they hoped to be it's costly in the long run.

Of course they will need to crate great DLC and keep supporting the games, but the reviews are worthless now, people read reviews to see if they should get a game, and were already well beyond that, everyone has the game and those that dont will still be pursuaded by friends that do. 

DLC Support, word of mouth and discouting are what will sell the game now, review time is well over. 

Most publications will tell you there is a massive drop off in readers if you dont get the review on the web the same time as everyone else, let alone if you can only do it after the game is released. 

Reviews don't matter the game was clearly a hit. Expect a new game in about two years time and Bungie has a ten year deal with Activision.

Also when was a 74 a bad score? I consider that decent although there are clearly far better games than it. Still a fair bit better than average

the critics panned stars wars too. critics see the world through a particular lens and when something enters that lens they dont understand they pan it. word of mouth for this game is amazing outside of certain forums so I think sales will remain strong. Having played it extensively now I can say that it is amazing, and while certain things could be better it just does so many things well.

For instance. a huge complaint from reviewers is the story, or the mechanism to propel the action is repetitive, okay it is. It really does not detract from the fun. These same reviewers had the same exact comments for D3:UEE but gave that game a pass for it, say something like "The story is just not good, but it serves it purpose on giving you are reason to slay hordes of enemies" That is exactly how Destiny uses its story but for some reason its a big deal in this case.
