Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft is killing the Nokia and Windows Phone brands

Lack of good browser made me leave it for android. Microsoft is stubborn enough not to let other browsers compete with IE. Lack of softwares is also another reason to make Lumia phones not so attractive.

From personal experience I can say lumia phones are awesome.

yes they are!proud owner of a nokia lumia 1520!cutting ''phone'' and leaving plain windows as os name, is a great move,it can exploit the huge success of windows in the pc market (92% marketshare ,1.64 billion)!i only disagree over nokia brand phaseout!

I was thinking about a Windows phone but the carriers up here don't offer Windows phones... and the one Bell does is rather old.

Rogers get crap for service out here so I can't go with them even though I would love to.

If there was ever a OS to pull me away from my Blackberry z10 and Q10 it would be Windows. I am looking forward to the Blackberry Passport this fall and who knows maybe I will get a windows phone off contract and unlock it.

I own a surface, windows pc, xbox one, i wanna get a windows phone eventually we'll see!

You certainly are not...

Love my 920. Still waiting on the 8.1 update to hit Australia.

I use my Lumia for Navigation and not as a phone. It cost me 40 bucks and is a no contract phone. I use my iPhone for my true phone. The interface is slick but a little sluggish and the apps just aren't there. It's too cumbersome for me to get it to do things I am used to on my iPhone. I do like some elements but not enough to jump ship. Especially with gimped versions of the most popular apps like the Instagram beta app and no true YouTube app. It seems like Microsoft makes the most useful apps for it but they can't do it all. So good luck to Lumia owners in the U.S.

as long as they still support their os, i don´t care how they call it,
and for smartphones lumia is already a stronger name than nokia
