Forums - General Discussion - Have any of you ever done a marathon? I did

Earlier today i did my first marathon (marathons are 26 miles but i did a little more. 27 miles.) across my home city London. It wasn't an official thing but the distance was roughly the same. It took me about 11 hours and i have no idea how i did it to be honest.  I have never been so tired and fatigued in my life and have no idea how i am still awake. I like walking anyway but have never pushed myself so much (I think i learnt how badly people suffered when they were made to work in concentration camps like slaves i guess, got a couple blisters but the bit before is just a comparison to how i feel as it's kinda hard to describe). It was fun i thought seeing all the many landmarkets in inner London (i'm from the suburbs), too much to take in really. And a great achievment although i probably have too much free time but nevermind. I probably wouldn't walk so much in one go again though as i nearly gave up but glad i didn't.

But i though it was worth sharing as many people have done it. So have any of you people done a marathon?

Oh... thought this was going to be about gaming marathons lol

But no I haven't, congratulations for doing it!

Congrats! I've never done a marathon as it seems too much. Done Cross Country running of 8 to 10 kms couple of times.

I do half marathons on a semi-regular basis (well, I did, before I broke my foot in two places and tore a bunch of ligaments 5 months ago). That includes two formal half marathons. Thats 21.1km, my best time is just over 96 minutes!

Running is awesome!

I did my first half marathon (13.1 miles) last December in an official race! It was one of the greatest experiences I ever had. I had never ran much prior but I trained for 10 weeks before. I ran it in 2 hours 8 minutes

I didn't really do any training. Just a couple 10 to 15 mile walks through the city. My longest distance before was 19 miles so i thought i could do it.

I could of done it faster had i know the city better and not stopped to take pictures but nevermind. The official thing has more of an advantage as the route is clearer but i did my own thing yesterday so it took longer.

Wow, congrats! I've never done one cause I don't feel fit enough but I've always wanted to.
