Why do people act surprised when EA does these things? This is hardly new. They've been shit since the late 1980s.

The biggest surprise to me is that NBA Live is getting another shot the relaunch was a huge critical and financial failure (if you go by the sales figures).

The first versions of FIFA and Madden on the PS4 and X1 where half assed so to expect more out of the first NHL is pointless.  Live was on a whole other level of terrible the biggest surprise is that its getting another chance this year.

Basically this. It applies to many of EA games. Replace the word Patch with Microtransactions and Addons. Peeps will be mad, but when sims 4 comes out they will deal with it. EA knows this, thats why they do.

Its been years since EA has been sucking ass, but nowadays they got worse somehow (really, I didn't tought it could be possible)
Not only they are doing shady practices, but also destroying its IPs : Sim city has a reeeeally bad reputation, they destroyed Dead space franchise putting an unrealistic sales milestone and converting it to "horror action shooter co-op lolz", and now its the turn of the sims, that one IP who has like 86 expansion and yet people buy it.

They have so much potential and yet they use that potential to screw customers.

EA is a very poorly managed company with cash - the execs are grossly overpaying themselves and until the major shareholders can or will do so,etching about mngmt they will continue over paying themselves while destroying shareholder value and doing their best to rip off their customers
