Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One Japanese Launch Week: 23k Sold

Thats more or less what i expected but i had no idea how bad this was next to other console launches. Amazing that the original Xbox had a stronger launch than Dreamcast over there

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

100k are being sent at launch.

I got that from a thread about Xbox China here yesterday. So after doing a quick search on the web, that number seems to be the general consensus as well (Plus Xbox fans on this site are under the same impression). It’s not 100% confirmed but then again for all we know those pre-order numbers above are a wash as well.

So it's 100k shipped?

From the wording, most likely.

You  are just trying to troll right?  You always act like you know everything but then how can you not know that they only shipped 40K? so what were your expectations then that they sold 50k?

Also we had plenty of threads where people reported that nobody was waiting in line for a Xbox one and that the situation was very dramatic....We even got articles with only one guy buying a Xbox one in a store so ofcourse people expect low numbers;...Check the Xbox empire thread and you will find no one who would even predict 20K FW....

Honestly Xbox one did a lot better than I think everyone expected, I think I had the highest predicition with 40K sold first MONTH.

If you ask me you are trying to downplay everyone because Xbox one did better than expected...  Very sad and immature for somebody who defended the 5-6K PS4 sales and called them fine because Sony did not started yet..

VGC gold right here! Yes, my intention is to "troll" while speaking about the severity of the situation there (a situation that a rocket scientist doesn't need hiring to figure out).

Even if they had sold through all 40K of that shipment, it wouldn't really change much (and you'd have to do some serious grasping to defend a 17K difference, particularly for a console launch). Also, if it had done "better than everyone expected", why are people (from all camps) shocked that it's such a low debut? Think about it.

Well first of all should excuse myself for how I behaved.

Secondly I predicted 40K in Japan for whole of the month in this thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=189581 the poll results are also a good reason to show how low people predict Xbox one doing;.

Thirdly I not based the 23K on what other consoles did in the past but on the evidence we got last days...Last week the 40K shipement for possible the first weeks (so how people can predict 64k is a mystery) + We basically got threads like 'Nobody in line for Xbox one'  'One guy picks up a Xbox one in a store' 'No Xbox one games made it in the top 20 sales' so 23K comes as a surprise after all those articles and evidence from Neogaf...

9月2日22时到今天,XBOX ONE国行版保守估计增长预订量为390台。现有预订量为103168台。
From September 2 to today, xbox one pre-order increased ~390, total number~ 103168

MS should just pull their resources from Japan and give us Chinese some real benefits.

So they have more pre-orders then they plan on shipping in the first month?

Who said(guessed) that MS planned on shipping 100k first month in China?

Foreigners' consensus means nothing. They know nothing about China. Someone even believed that ¥4999 crap from Sina China LMAO.

I dont think 100k is real cause some of us pre-ordered two/get our friends to order 1 from MS store just to finish the Xbox Tribe's tasks in order to get coupons for xbox accessary&games. But if those who ordered multiple dont cancel their duplicate orders before September 23, MS have to prepare shipments for these orders as well.

Means nothing, 360 opened half as well as the original and sold 3x as much lifetime.

Yes, because it had big games, whereas the One, with no big japanese exclusive will at the best reach 300k lifetime.

Let's see if they can money hat a big japanese game, but they dont seem to care about Japan so...

How is it that Dead Rising 1 pushed 360's sales so much, but Dead Rising 3 did not?

Logic = Fail

Your logic, yes, i explain you why

Dead Rising 1 wasnt the  reason for them to take a 360 :  It's mostly because it had big exclusives coming and wasnt the only interesting game, they didnt buy 360 for Dead Rising, but they bought Dead Rising because they wanted a 360 for the games coming, for the same reason, Dead Rising 3 didnt sell good on One.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

This is much, much lower than I expected for the Xbox One.

Welp. it's Microsoft fault that the Xbox one failed over there.

Microsoft has reported 9 Japanese games in development for the XB1, with Scalebound already announced.

For 360 there were what 4 announced JRPG's with 2 revealed (Blue Dragon and Enchanted Arms).

How exactly were 360 fans buying a console for future titles, and XB1 fans not? ALL that happened was that the Japanese realized that most of the XB exclusives will come over to Playstation (Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean....eventhing but Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey).

Please, you understand why. You cant compare an unknwown title to Blue Dragon...

Fans were buying 360 because such big Jrpg was coming. And of course, nobody knew these games would come on playstation ( but now they experienced timed exclusive and after the lies on 360 support, it's an other reason for them to not buy a microsoft console again, they gave their trust once, they wont do the same mistake even if MS makes promises again " we have a lot coming " ,they doubt most wont be exclusives)

Fans dont buy One because absolutely nothing big is coming for them and because Microsoft disappointed them with 360. ( we dont even know what will be Scalebound, so it's obvious it wont make them want to buy a console for that a cgi trailer)

It's as simple as that.
