Yup, it does. My original point still stands, though.

not in the light of context.

Which is?

to give an overall idea of how well the game sold in general.

Some of the last minute deals with Xbox One really help boost it towards the end. If you buy an XBO right now you can get any $60 game for free, and this can be combined with one of the several bundles at Gamestop.

While a White PS4 with Destiny is nice, it doesn't have the same allure of "free" stuff.

At my particular gamestop, our midnight was about 500 vs 400 split in Xbox favor.

Today at Target, surprisingly, Destiny for Xbox One (360 included) sold about even with PS4 (3 included).  As long as you don't count the bundle that is.  We had 1 person buy a Xbox One Madden bundle for the main purpose of purchasing Destiny.  However, we had 11 Destiny bundles and we sold 9 of the 11 by the time I left at 5.  Just wanted to share my experience with all those interested on the site.

Oh btw, I scored the destiny promo poster that was sent as well.  It's close to like 5ft tall and looks pretty sweet!  Was even thinking about doing a contest for it on here (since I'm a Ninty gamer), but ended up offering it to my friend back home in Indiana.

Is a rural or city location?

It's in the Bay Area (Northern CA).  The store was ranked around 20 in the company last year.

At the EB games I picked my copy up at the manager said everyone came in to buy Destiny. I saw two people pick up the standalone version & one guy copped a bundle in a span of five minutes. My brother however was looking for a bundle as well but he said that they were sold out everywhere; EB Games, Futureshop, WalMart, etc. Another one of my friends grabbed the bundle & he isn't much of a gamer.

Doesn't make sense.

Damn, that white PS4 looks hot. And getting this bundled with Destiny sure was worth it for Sony. Can't wait to see the result, if PS4 got such a massive boost in NA, wonder what's going on in EU.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

hardly anyone goes to target in my area. sounds like big numbers coming soon.

after all, consoles are dead, right?

yes it does, you commented on a post that had a particular context and then made a comment out of context.  The initial poster implied that the sales were only even because the 360 sales were added (or vice verca), which is why I responded that the sales of last gen consoles didn't have an effect on overall sales.  The reason they there to begin with however, was to give an overall idea of how well the game sold in general, not to balance the equation, hence the reason for 360 and ps3 being in parenthesis.
