That is because there is no phone better than iPhone 5S until... maybe iPhone 6.
You will find these others better until try an iPhone :D
I'm getting the iphone 6 eventually.

No, they improve quality by increasing the accuracy of the sensor pixels. That gets you better photos without jacking up file size.
Honestly, there are so many ways to improve a camera beyond just pixel count that it might be even worse than the megahertz wars.
