Forums - Microsoft Discussion - China is Huge Homies

Hey homie are you ready to take bets on you prediction of 1-2M sold on the release week? 1 year ban?

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I think after the tier 2 launch the X1 should be in the number one place

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Correct me if Im wrong but isn't china generally more open towards western culture in general? You'll certainly find more western cars in China than Japan (yes I know china is bigger but still...) plus movies like Expendables are massive overthere.

I think a US console will have more success than a Japanese console over there.

Do you know that in some areas, like cinema they are limited to a certain ammount of releases of foreign movies in a year, so when people are hungry they tend to eat everything thrown at them.

Not that they don't like western, but they are limited and thus less options.

Xbox One has 16k Chinese preorders in two weeks according to http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/565460/20140908/xbox-one-live-gold-rewards-program-china.htm#.VA7Pz5Ug_X4

That retailer only accounts for 2% of sales according to the website so Xbox One preorders are probably somewhere around 800k in China with a couple weeks to go.

The numbers do not lie homies.

Are you ready for Xbox One to get a 1-2 million boost this month?

people are not tho  :)

joke aside    will be interesting to see how new consoles sell there.   Might result in chinese studions making games for all of us. And maybe there will be another paradigm shift and western developers will be irrelevant in 10 years. Who knows. (Tbh I hope that will be the case FU grey/brown crap)

Like day1 console owners buying every crapgame that exists :)

They're working on a console targeted towards China and other emerging markets.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yeah, I wouldn´t bet on it. it will do really good, but maybe 100k at launch?

I come from an emerging market, and that kind of stuff never works, maybe it could for Nintendo, because parents would buy the cheaper console for their kids.

But the core gamer market, who truly spend in games, don't buy that kind of hardware.

I think they should release both, but first see how the XOne peform this year.

Yeah, but not the WIi U.

however their plan could be more succesful than releaseing something that would be very expensive in emeraging markets.
