Sonic Adventure was awesome. Crazy Taxi... I had the driver's wheel for that. We had some great times with that game.

Long Live the Dreamcast!

Be honest guys...do you think Sega can get back into the console business?! Do you think the fans would accept them again? A lot of children don't really know how Sega operates. They just see them on Sonic games and that's that. We've actually experience Sega consoles and they were great quality.

I never see Sega getting in the console business EVER again. The competition is too stiff... and their exculsives don't do that well nowadays for gamers to want to get a system for them. Don't get me wrong they make GREAT GAMES (Sonic, Shenmue, Bayonetta, PSO, Valkyria Chronicles, Sakura Wars, Shining Force etc.) and they sell in the low Millions(1-2mill at most), but it's not what the public wants ATM... And that's sad.

Then again, it's the age of Retro gaming right? Maybe the public is just dying for the resurrection of a once great Titan. Maybe if they come out with a string of RPG games at their consoles release date with a Sonic sequel (a one that's on par with Super Mario Galaxy), along with with EPIC ADVERTISING (the lack of it KILLED them in the past), along with getting the latest CoD game and GTA game around the same period of  their new console's release date, then yeah maybe they can work out a miracle.

And Happy Birthday Sega Dreamcast! A console with an interactive memory card, built in modem, an EPICLOAD of LEGENDARY Fighting games, and one of the First Addicting MMOs of all time in Phantasy Star Online. I swear I'd play this game so much I would go to sleep and my hands would still motion me pressing buttons because I was dreaming about playing it. That and the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 battles with all my friends, the Power Stone 2 multiplayer, the Story mode and gameplay of Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Tony Hawk 2. A console WAY ahead of its time.

And Yes, if Sega came out with another system I'd support them!!

Happy Birthday, Dreamcast! It didn't last that long on the console market, but it was still a good console!

Wooooo! Congrats little fella! Games like Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Phantasy Star Online among many others sure made you have a good place in gaming history. (and my heart )

My Dreamcast is STILL in mint condition. I loved it so much that I bought 2 of them. One was stolen (when I was in the Air Force) and the other I never opened until last year. :) All of my games are in mint as well. The Dreamcast was so underrated, in my opinion. Had stellar games, yet it still sold poorly. I hated the PS2 for a long time because of it. Hahaha Then I ended up getting one.

Well anyway, still love my Dreamcast and hope one day Sega makes another console. HBD Dreamcast!!!

I hate to be the party pooper here but sales were fairly sub-par (in terms of the revenue Sega needed) up against the N64 and PS1 loooooong before the PS2 was released. It was pretty much the biggest botch in the Japanese market besides Xbox systems.

It's worth to have in your collection. How would you acquire one, if I may ask? Ebay?

A local game store has 3, but he asks 150€ for one. I'm going to try to knock that price down to 60-70€. If not, i'll look on Ebay or Amazon

You will do much better on Ebay. I just sold a few they went between £20 and £30 (so under 45). I'd offer to sell you one, but shipping would be a pain outside the UK (I've still got a couple).

Depends on the shipping rates to Belgium ^^

I'm pretty sure shipping from here in the UK to the Benelux region would still be substantially less than 150 euros. The DC is a relatively small/lighweight system, as long as you have the system unit, controller, AV cable (I would recommend the S-Video or VGA cable but it's not necessary) and VMU memory card, you're actually pretty much set. Playing burned games on it is like getting past the Berlin wall in 1991.

My uncle thought about giving me his Dreamcast back in 2005, but he decided against it because he deemed the controller "too weird." Oddly enough, he ended up giving his GameCube, quirky controller and all.

I still wonder what would've happened to me if I actually got that Dreamcast.
