Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do The People That Bought A Xbox One Feel Ripped Off After All The Price-Cuts, Fire Sales, And Exclusive Content/Games For The PS4?

I got mine as a Christmas present... so no.

Bought a ton of games for it, so I definitely don't feel bad about getting it early. The thing is on nearly all the time; either to watch TV, browse apps, or play a game.

So does anybody feel ripped off? LMAO

OP more or less subtly suggests possible buyer's remorse.

Only those who got the console for a reason other than it was what they wanted, such as being undecided, would feel remorse.

So obviously OP's intention isn't to get legitamate answers.

That's a risk for all early adopters, honestly.

It doesn't matter if one feels bad about it because their is nothing they can do about it.
That being said, I predicted it when I saw the obvious signs, and Dead Rising 3, Forza, and Ryse weren't enough for me to waste 100$ on a Kinect.

As far as I'm concerned the XB1's price is in free fall, and nothing short of the eventual H5 bundle would be worth the Risk imo. Except maybe QB.

Thats fine, as long as you except that your concerns don't reflect reality.

Outside of the UK, I am not aware that the Xbox One has received a non-deal price cut anywhere?

In Australia for example, the Kinect SKU costs the same as it always did, and the non-Kinect SKU $100 less, the same as it always has.

If by 'free fall' you meant in the more existential 'technology prices always fall over time' however, then I agree with you. And of course, it would hold that the prices of the PS4 and WiiU are also in free fall.

Its obvious enough that this is my opinion. Not to mention deciding whether or not something is worth buying is completely subjective.

I don't recall ever touting opinions as reality/objectivity.

Price cuts: what price cuts? I guess if you wanna call the $500 to $400 drop a price cut, go ahead. But it removed the Kinect, which I love, so no it doesn't bother me.

Fire sales: it would have been great to get a free digital download or a free retail game but those are the risks you take being an early adopter. Don't feel ripped off in the slightest.

PS4 games/content: hahaha. Like what? Extra content in a meh game like Watch Dogs, or Destiny? Not a big deal. I don't care for any of the PS4 exclusives yet either. Not sure why anyone would feel ripped off by another company having exclusive games.

Another point I'd like to make... since the OP was obviously written from a Sony fan's perspective, I wonder how PS1 early adopters felt back in the day when Sony dropped the price from $299 to $199 (a 33% cut) less than a year after launch to match the N64's launch price. Was that a "fire sale" on Sony's part?

Or how about when Sony screwed PS2 early adopters when again they dropped the price of the PS2 from $299 to $199 in June 2002, just 18 months after launch, to undercut the Xbox and match the GC's price? Fire sale!

Or even better... how about all the poor souls who dropped FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARZ!!!! on a PS3 at launch?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
