Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do The People That Bought A Xbox One Feel Ripped Off After All The Price-Cuts, Fire Sales, And Exclusive Content/Games For The PS4?

The people I 'm talking about are the ones that bought Xbox One at launch with Kinect for $500.00.  It seems like like new unannounced price-cut is offered each week. What is going on? Now Microsoft is offering free games with the system? When do they say enough is enough? It also seems like every week some dev is skipping Xbox One for PS4. Do you think it  matters what Microsoft does anymore? They could announce a $199.99 bundle and PS4 would still outsell it, IMO.

I don't know what the future holds for Xbox One but I know I'm glad I upgraded to PS4 from 360/PS3 and have held off on buying a Xbox One. At this point, I'm not sure if the Xbox One warrants a purchase at all. How do others feel about this? Please specify if you bought at launch.

Do you expect those that payed $500 to throw away their consoles in anger?

Or do you just expect that Microsoft just quit and game developers and publisher stop suporting the XOne?

Sorry, my friend. This not gonna happen.

The market is alread in a bad situation with only two contenders. Just see how vibrant the smartphone and tables are, and you see how far behind the game fanatism is leading the XOne and PS4.

It"s only gonna get better with the holidays coming

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

What can Microsoft do to turn it around? It seems like they have tried everything.

What price cuts / fire sales? There's been a Kinect-less SKU released for $100 less (whereas Kinect standalone retails for $150 separately). The X1 would have launched at $399 anyway without Kinect. And those "fire sales" you're referring to are a couple of bundles that offered "free" downloadable-only copies of games like Titanfall and Madden, and the latest promotion is that you get a $60 game with X1 purchase until Sept 13th. Back in the day we used to call these "pack-in" games. Now all of a sudden including a game with the purchase of a console is the equivalent to a "fire sale".

But you're right in that X1 is going to have a tough time competing with all the PS4 "exclusives" this holiday... like Destiny. No wait, um, COD. No that's not it... wait what's PS4's big exclusive title this holiday season again?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

To turn it around from where?

As long as the Xone makes money the market share is not that critical.

They not even begun to try new things (and besides, we don´t know if the sales this quarter where that low as VGChartz shows).

To be fair, the Xbox 360 fell pretty far behind in terms of putting out exclusives the last four years, didn't really stop it from outselling the PS3 in the U.S for a massive NPD win streak. xP

Zanten, Doer Of The Things

Unless He Forgets In Which Case Zanten, Forgetter Of The Things

Or He Procrascinates, In Which Case Zanten, Doer Of The Things Later

Or It Involves Moving Furniture, in Which Case Zanten, F*** You.

Nope, don't really feel ripped off, I have a day one edition. But I also have PS4 & Wii U so I'm not really missing out on anything.

This might be a fire sale to try to clear the channel for new Sunset Overdrive & COD bundles.

My 8th gen collection

What price cuts, lol? Is this a joke or are you trolling? The price-cuts were all unannounced in the US and have been hidden by bundles and according to Microsoft "retailer promotions". The bundles they announced for the holidays are all price-cuts, Titanfall bundle, Xbox One 449.99 retail deal, free game promotion etc.

These are a few of the price-cuts. They were unannounced because it saves Microsoft the embarrassment.

Also, If you have an agenda, please stay out of my topic. Thanks
