Looks to me like it's going to the 3DS, the only platform that actually sells in Japan. Also, I think is very possible that SE pressed Nintendo to put more power into their new 3ds because this game was going to need it.

Makes the most sense. By far the best selling platform in japan + the cheapest development costs + most likely the largest amount of DQ fans = win win win for SE.

People who keep bringing up 3DS need to stay up to date.

Then we laugh considering it's the top two home consoles at the moment. 

Also, he wasn't sure if you looked at his wording. They'll bring it to whatever platform they want, for all we know it could be the New 3DS

I really hope this means a PS4 version. As for the vague "some sort of western release," I'll assume that means digital only.

@Blood_Tears; This guy just told us that DQ goes to the most popular console, which is something that was already spouted off by someone in SE a few years back. PS4 is not doing well in Japan, 3DS is. Either Horii doesn't get what he wants or there is major mis-communication in SE. (Which actually make sense.)

Well, if they want to export DQ, PS4 is the most popular console.

And the talk about playstation is not here for nothing.

Too many hints yelling PS4.

3DS version would be best.

DQ will never sell a lot in the West. I would hope Square Enix is not stupid enough to choose a host console for DQXI based of those few 100k of sales compared to the millions in Japan.

I wonder why people are so quick to assume that it's coming to PS4. The PS4 isn't doing well in Japan and that's where the bulk of DQ sales are.
