Ninsect is pezus' new account. So your comments are pretty ironic.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

what an absolutely annoying and inappropriate topic for a gaming site.
it's so frustrating to me how the LGBT community bang their
drums for equality and recognition while at the same time
constantly demanding preferential treatment.

if someone decides to cosmetically change their gender, that doesn't negate the natural fact of whether they're male or female.
why on earth should a site devoted to video games feel compelled to accommodate an individuals sexual preference or gender identification in that individual's profile?
there are plenty of other sites online devoted to those specifics.
this site is about pc's, consoles, and gaming.
the OP should be ashamed of himself for posting such a self-serving, obtrusive thread.

I see nothing wrong with a person identifying themselves with the opposite gender,
but this is entirely the wrong site to get vocal about it.

also, if a person needs or wants to change their gender identity, there is a myriad of things that need to change along with that decision; clothes, name, personal relations.... etc.. in other words, they become a new person.
so how about just making a new profile. seems fitting doesn't it?
what a simple solution for a non-problem.

Oh I feel ashamed now for suggesting the option to switch genders in the profile settings...lol

what does your post have to do with gaming?

why do you feel it necessary to to contribute such a post to a 'gaming' website?

now, I don't know it your OP was an honest thread or not, but if it is and you were born a man, then you're a man... regardless of your personal feelings, attitudes, or desires.

VGchartz does a basic service in letting you state your gender in your profile, they are not obligated to accomadate your changing moods, this isn't a site devoted to personal sentiment within the context of sexual preference or gender identity. Like I said, there are plenty of other sites for that.

Again, if you feel the need to change who you are, then simply make a new account reflecting that.

You want equality, then stop throwing your stuff in other people's business. When's the last time you heard, saw, or read about a heterosexual demanding he or she be accepted as a heterosexual?

You haven't.

You want to know why?

..... because they are comfortable and accepting of who they are. If you're truly transgendered, then maybe you should act the same way and stop demanding people pay attention to you.

So you trying to be a smart one huh. Let me ask you this simple question, when was the last time you read something about a hate crime on a heterosexual person? About a heterosexual who was beaten up because he simply was living his life? I cant remember either. You can not play both ways and say "uhh why you people so mad just live your life" when you sit there with rights that protect you and us not and to be quite honest I really would like to live a normal life without anyone brining to my attention what my sexuality is 24/7 but its not possible honey. You dont have to deal with stuff like that when you apply for a job and they dont even give you a chance just throw your application right away because of your sexuality cause nobody cares about the heterosexuals and what they do at home but they sure care what we do and they love to judge you by that.. or talking to someone on the phone and have to explain yourself why your voice is deeper than a regular woman ones. (lol) I could go on and on but it wouldn't make sense I think people get my point. Trust me if everything would be that easy we would not complain and im not saying that heterosexual people dont have problems because we all do but its always harder when you being judged by your looks first.

Far as I know this site is no longer in any real active development. Absolutely the gender field should have the transgender options added.

edit: You should be able to change the gender field after creating your account. For all those who say just create a new account. I identify as dharh. I would never create a new account. If this account ever got banned, I would likely never ever come back to the site. It's just the way it is.

You're not wrong! Sadly, that has been the case for a while now... :S

@ Daisy...

your complaints aren't much different than someone playing poker and whining about the hand they were dealt.. you have what you have, you're given what you were given.
now.. while that analogy isn't completely applicable as no one asks for life but those playing poker are willing participants.. once you're in the game, you simply have to accept the rules that were in place before you started.

if you're different, than you're going to have to accept the biases directed towards you for being so.. if you have a losing hand, than you have to accept the reality of that.

the game of poker is not going to change to accommodate a bad row of cards.. and neither is life.

... and just for an added thought, maybe I'm transgendered myself and have learned to accept who I am, realizing that my lifestyle is outside the norm and my continued attempts to thrust my lifestyle into the face of what is natural is a losing battle... and always will be.
Maybe I've learned how to quietly smile at a world that frowns on who I am.

@Sevengen

I totally get your point but I think we as trans/lgbt should not see this as a burden on ourselfs cause everybody on this planet will be judged by others..so you know be happy that you are different there is nothing wrong with it even if some other will say so. Though its a little bit more difficult to live this way but trust me its worth it to see life from the other side. More people should embrace themselfs.. god damn we only got this one life make it count.

I was talking about human rights in general and not about some cosmetic changes in here.

To answer your question, its the right to label yourself as the gender you are and im not talking about your born one. Society only accept the two main ones and its not right to force a transgender person in to the female category if this person dont feel like it. There is a big difference between being a born female and a transgendered person and we have a prime example in here when people talk about stuff they dont know shit about. Not every transgender has the wish to become a full woman and sadly there is no third gender for now which is accepted by society and its easy to say for bystanders "Why do you people demand extra rights or why dont you just accept the fact that you will never be this or that gender".. its the basic human rights that a lot of you "heterosexual" people take for granted which we have to fight for. So please dont say we demand something extra when you people dont have to deal with this bullshit every day and surely not only on the internet.

Apologies then as I was under the assumption you were referring to the the OP's request for gender changing in VGC profiles.

As for the rest of your post, I fully understand your stance. I grew up with with a brother for the first 21 years of my life who then told us all that he was transgender, although we always knew. Growing up I would always walk into my bedroom (that we shared) to find him wearing my sister's clothing.

Not sure how he is doing now though as he kind of cut himself off from the rest of the family after we helped him transition through it all and found him a nice place to live that has a strong LGBT community. Kind of feels like a kick in the nuts to be honest. He ditched a supportive family for the LGBT groups that I saw him on the news rallying with.

Sometimes its difficult for both sides. I dont know your brother/now sisters personally and how it was for her growing up and all that stuff but from what I can say is that sometimes even family can not fill the void which is there. Often times you have the need to talk to people from "your" community because they went through the same and understand your situation better. She can be real proud that she got you as a supportive family cause not a lot of us got that..and that she goes out and fight for not only her but the rights of the whole community is very noble of her.
