Big W, a branch of one of the leading retailers in Australia, has issued an apology regarding the release of Rockstar’s long-awaited remaster, Grand Theft Auto V. The apology states that, while they thought GTA V will release in November, the game actually comes out in Spring 2015.
The image, which you can see below, either implies that they’re setting up an ambiguous placeholder date, or they know something we don’t.
This follows reports from earlier today that an online retailer, Newegg, had leaked a release date of November 18th, only to quickly push it back to December 31st. Does this mean that Rockstar’s game is in fact delayed, and they’re sending the word out to retailers, or are they playing it safe and putting up placeholders as November draws closer? We’ll have to wait and see, but Rockstar already confirmed that the game won’t be delayed – unless they’re having unforeseen problems in the development cycle, it’s safe to assume this is another placeholder.
