Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does anybody actually care about these VR headsets?

Does anybody actually care about these VR headsets? Is anybody actually excited to get one, once they become available? Is this the new 3d fad? I think the potential for these devices is there, but I think it's just another tech fad. I don't really see this becoming some mainstream thing. I thing all these companies pouring millions of dollars in RnD is just a waste of time. So,has anybody actually played one of these things and what are your thoughts on it?

Actually, no.

I'm hoping it's just a fad. I'd rather put on a gas mask than a VR headset. Something's just so wrong about such a complete disconnect from the real world and I wonder what it will do to people.

i am and will be as soon as they come out. those who hate dont know what they are hating.

I was interested at first but somehow, my interest is gone now. I think they could be an amazing addition, especially for racing games (much potential there) but i won't buy one when they come out.

Playing: F1 2016 (PC), Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4)
Watching: Hajime no Ippo, Attack on Titan (4th time)
Upcoming purchases in October:
-TBD

it'll be more popular than kinect/ps move, that's for sure.

I'm very willing to try it once it has overcome the most serious growing pains to experience first hand if the immersion is as good and persuasive as the enthusiasts make it out to be.

Unless its from Sony.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I'll probably get 2.

You saw that Summer Lesson Morpheus demo right??
Of course Im excited for it =P
In all seriousness though I will definitely be there day 1 when Morpheus launches. Of course it may take some time for it to truly be great product, just look at early smartphones, but Ive always wanted to game like this.

it's going to be great and will have a lot of applications outside of just gaming. Those that hate on it always come off as jealous or salty. It's a good step forward from past vr. It may never be the main form of gaming but I'm sure it will have a really good and entertaining library of games. I just hope Bethesda gets on board and makes a working version of their next fallout/Elder scrolls for it.
