Forums - Gaming Discussion - what's so special about minecraft?

So,what's so special about minecraft? I watched some vids on it and I had to stop watching them, because the block graphics were bothering me. I can apperciate the retro feel, but that's alittle to retro for me. I might as well be playing an atari 2600 game, with 3d glasses. If I play some make my rpg game,I want to get lost in the gameplay and not get distracted bye some retro blocks.

I honestly don't know either.
I tried playing it several times, but it just got boring after a few hours.
Most people build stuff for weeks and I'm getting bored after building a single house.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

The retro blocks are not really that distracting, this is coming from a guy who doesn't like minecraft. I guess the most special thing is that you can use your imagination in the game.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I suppose its not our cup of tea.

That sis the million dollar question, my friend! Thank God I'm not forced anymore to play that borefest of game!

All Hail the Jester King. The King is back, and I am still a dirty girl prof ;)

I like it, survival mode is fun and challenging at times. :) I think just building stuff with endless resources (creative mode) is boring after a while.

I really have to give it a go, i'll probably pick it up for my Vita when it comes out and hopefully find out why everyone goes on about it.

It's creative. Freedom to play your game the way you want, do what you want. That is the route of it's success.

You may not get it but then I don't get Gears Of War.

Hmm, pie.

It has lots of gameplay. Actually, it's gameplay and nothing else. Too many games today try to emulate movies, which is absolutely boring imo. Minecraft just puts you into some world and you are free to discover things, experiment and well... just play! It's the pure essence of what made games great in the past. It's fun. At least to me and millions of other people. Of course not everybody likes it, there will be never a game that everybody loves.
