Basically anyone in those regions who really wanted one, would have imported one by now, so launch is going to be nothing major

I honestly don't think it'll have much of an effect past the first week or so. Just seems like most of the folks who wanted an XB1 in those tier 2 countries have had access to them basically since launch. I also don't think T2 should be where Microsoft is resting their laurels. They need to turn the page and really make a new game plan for the markets they're really struggling in (Europe, for example).

I won't pretend to know for certain. But we can safely assume that anyone buying consoles in these countries has internet. They have access to all the same sites and message boards that we do. So I think it would be improper to assume it will have big launches in any of these countries, because they most likely are seeing the same thing we're all seeing, that PS4 is the "winning" console, and most people will still want to go with the winning console.

What Microsoft failed to learn is that historically, people do not have console allegiances. There will always be "fanboys," but the majority of people go to what is leading, and that tends to switch each generation. Microsoft saw their success with 360 and thought people would just go to their system regardless, the same mistake Sony made when they rolled out PS3.

To that end, I see it selling even worse than previous Xboxes did in Japan, and the other regions aren't really worth discussing in terms of overall numbers. Keep in mind also that Sony was very smart in making PS4 Japan announcements this week. First Dragon Quest Heroes with a special limited edition console and then Persona 5. So that's where Japanese gamers are gonna go.

10K bump to baseline, which is pretty significant base don current numbers.

I selected 15-20k.

It should get 3-5k from Japan alone each week on bad weeks.

You are joking on the Japan weekly figure you have there right?

The PS4 gets 4-6k weekly in japan.

Nope. This is the worst the PS4 will do until the ends of its life.

There is a floor that a new console won't fall below until a price cut, etc is on the way.

About 20000 i think, there are alot of countries there but no major ones really.

I can't believe they are only just launching in half of Europe. Just so late

But even the 360 did less than a 3-5k baseline in Japan, and it actually had some japanese oriented games. The XBO doesn't have that.

Depends on when you look. For the first 2 years, it did well enough and stayed in the range I mentioned. It averaged 5-6k in its prime years.

I'm looking at 2006, an until November in 2006 it's wobbling between 1 and 2k, closer to 1 than 2.
