Yeah the numbers are probably off but not massively; maybe around 100-150k

I say more, but we will know in October as shipments should stabalise/ramp up. There shouldn't be any less than 400k in the channel end of September.

conegamer finally expresses his opinion, i m so pleased!

Glad this thread was made. Once you start speaking in real numbers people somehow dont understand and then throw around the same overtracked estimates.

I'd like clarification on this post from Seece in the referenced thread, apparently some people have experience working with these numbers according to it.

You missed the fact that 20k on shelves with it doing 50k~ the immediate following weeks? Why are you either bothering with this tiresome and obvious argument? If you want to believe 20k on shelves is logical (it isn't, it amounts to (10k) to 190 WiiU's per American State) go right ahead. I won't and most here that have been here for years and know how the system works don't agree with you either.

The underlined part I just did not understand at all.

Edit: Nevermind I understand. I honestly see no problem in that figure.

You see no problem with that figure...you know how many Gamestop, Targets and Wal-Mart's are in US right? Dont you think we would hear something if there were only 10k wii Us for 20k stores??

No way is the Wii U overtracked. The numbers are right there in the OP, VGC's estimates are lower than Nintendo's sales numbers. If anything, it is undertracked.

Nintendo's shipped numbers...SHIPPED

He's joking, don't worry.

Also a fair few stores around here have no Wii U's in stock. It's all "order one in to buy"

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

But it's nintendos shipped numbers, not sales numbers -_-

Obviously it's overtracked, or do you think there's only 20k Wii Us on store shelves spread out in the entire world (besides Japan, where 40 of those total 60k Wii Us are localized)? Not to mention that it takes a while for the shipments to reach their destination, so it'll actually be even less then 20k in the store channels.

I think it's fine because it seems like stores had reduced their shelf-space for WiiU in the first place.

I don't pretend to be correct I just want to bounce ideas. That's what a forum is for.

Think about what you're saying right now...why in any type of scenario would Nintendo reduce their shelf-space a month after MK8. Not only that but reduce it to where you cant find it at ANY store? What kind of sense does that make? You ship 40k to Japan but say screw the rest of the world, give all of them half of Japan's shipments. Dude..think really hard about this.

Isnt a potential 100K overtracking 2 months ago something that would correct itself over time?
