June 28 on VGC: 6.60m
June 30 shipments (Nintendo): 6.68m

Difference = 80k

Add the two missing days in the VGC data (2/7*60k= 17k or so): 63k difference total

Let's not bring X1 into this. It's completely irrelevant to this discussion. All we need to do is apply some common sense. 20k in stock around the world (minus Japan) is not something that is even possible for a console that is selling three times that much per week.

The last two days of sales in June was 20k which would makes it 60k on shelves.  40k which would have been located in Japan from sources.  That would make 20k outside of Japan which is highly unlikely since that is virtually nothing considering that would be spread out through both Europe and America.   Yet we didnt hear about shortages at all

Yes it has been overtracked for some time now, ever since Nintendo's FY report. And it has been overtracked again last month.

All national charts and tracking have indicated MK8 dropping pretty rapidly, and even on VGC that game has been dropping in the charts. However Wii-U hardware hasn't dropped in the weekly VGC charts at all. It might only be 50k for the entire month, but that does mean weekly sales have been 10k/15k lower wich is pretty significant when comparing to Xbox One or PS3.

We're not even talking shortages, we're talking the channel being drrrrrry.

As others said we have already been arguing about this across many threads.

Rather than further arguing the exact same points, we should just wait and hopefully get a post from ioi on where his thoughts are on this.

Yeah the numbers are probably off but not massively; maybe around 100-150k
