Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Are the New 3DS and Nintendo Fusion Related?

she-attack.com.... Where the fuck do these sites with weird ass names keep on coming up from? Loll

But yea, I doubt it, they did this with the gameboy color and gameboy advanced as well as the DS and DSi so its probably Nintendo continuing that type of a trend

fusion ds is the successor of 3ds series which apparently coming in 2017

Though probably not true, looking at the specs of the 3ds fusion, the inclusion of a finger print scanner could be a way to protect your eshop purchases and allow users to recover games from a lost or stole new 3ds.

Nope... The New 3DS is the DSi of the 3DS, while the Nintendo Fusion is the successor to the WiiU/3DS!

What is so apparent about this? It is more likely that Nintendo's next handheld will launch 2016. The only way it will be pushed back is if the new 3DS turns out to be a smash hit.

jumping hello!new 3ds/3dxl  are coming in 2015,you consider rational to be  discontinued  after 1 year...?plus that these handhelds are like 3dsi/3dsxl.In  ds series each version  had 2 years lifetime, the whole series had six years lifetime like the wii,why 3ds shouldnt(3ds had 3 years and half in japan, in usa and europe will reach four years :O,so two years duration till the new series 2015--->2017 )take into account that the successor of wii u is highly likely to come in 2017,so it matches!however what you writed is a possibility!

I do wonder if the boost in power is enough for Nintendo to make cross-platform games easier, either 3DS getting down ports of Wii U games or Wii U get up ports of 3DS games. In terms of control methods it should be easier since they now have the same button layout but I'm not sure if spec-wise they are similar enough.

It is launching in October 2014. Before you say, "not in my country" keep in mind that Japan is Nintendo's home country. Also keep in mind that 3DS is not super successful like the DS was, so there is no reason to extend the lifespan. Gameboy Advance SP launched in February 2003, the DS launched November 2004.

Fall 2016 is the most probable date.

that could be done with an accountsystem

I think that, as i have said in another thread, NEW 3DS exists because 2DS failed to lift 3DS sales in Europe and the US.
Basically, the casuals, kids, tablet owners, didn`t bite.

So, it`s time to return to the core gamer. And 3DS will do just that.
Not just in terms of specs, but mainly because NEW 3DS does look a lot like your average controller in terms of buttons and joysticks.

The other change will come in terms of games.
I don`t think it`s a coincidence that the first Wii port happened to be a very praised core gamer. With some people even calling it the JRPG of it`s generation.
If i`m right, we will see a lot of GC and Wii ports. Actually, i think that`s exactly the reason NEW exists. That way Nintendo can reduce the manpower developing 3DS games, with the ports filling up the holes in original games.

Begin speculation:
With a new redesign to fit the core gamer tastes, not only is Nintendo freeing developers to either support the Wii U or to already develop for the new Handheld, it`s also testing the waters, as in, NEW 3DS, and it`s games will show how much gamers are willing to have that kind of handheld and those kind of games in that kind of handheld.

So, in a sense, NEW 3DS does feel like a way to attract core gamers as it does to test those same gamers, in order to prepare for next gen.
