On Nintendo Life, I came across an article. and they say that the creators of minecraft say with an install base so low, Wii U minecraft probably won't happen. WELL THAT'S A LOAD OF BULLSHIT! The Xbox One has a lower install base and they're releasing it on there. What basturds! A Wii U version makes more sense than any other platform. It has a fucking tablet for crying out loud. Bullshit, horseshit, whatever you call it. That's what this is. I'm tired of 3rd parties being dicks and not at least supporting the Wii U a little. Them not making ANY games for it will make sales worse. As long as stuff like this keeps showing up and pissing me off, i'll probably have a rant thread.

Yup the less they are on Nintendo systems the more irrelevant they become for Nintendo gamers because they show them "see you cant rely on us at all." They are digging their own grave for almost 20 years now anmd the longer that keeps happening the more people thing "Well i survived X years without you I dont need you anyways" In my case that worked and I completely Ignore any Activision EA or Ubisoft game on my PS3 360 WiiU 3DS Vita and PS4. If a game is not exclusive be it first second or third party I just skip it.
I just dont need them at all. I just sometimes buy their stuff out of curiosity when its on a steam sale for 5 bucks.

Smart people know that short term profit is irrelevant (only greedy people care about that and in most gaming companies thats the idiotic shareholders that dont give a fuck about the product or the company as long as it makes money)  long term profit is what counts. Thats why I think Rockstar is pretty dumb for not porting GTA to WiiU but whatever.

There is other important things than making money. Expanding your userbase is  and even if you didnt make a single cent with your WiiU game  at least you establish your IP  and get a following on that console. Which will lead to better sales in the future.

COD3 for example soled almost as good on Wii as it did on 360  and then the most important installment in the franchise skipped Wii (Modern Warfare1) and just 1 year later showed up on that system  Activision killed its COD userbase on Nintendo platforms that day.

Seece is correct. Sony and Microsoft both chase down third parties to get games and consoles where as Nintendo don't. Nintendo also have historically (Gamecube) not wanted multi-platform games because they didn't want their console to look like the same experience as any other.

That link is a really good insight into Nintendo's mindset and I honestly don't think they've learnt anything. Pretty much all of their problems are their own policies biting them in the butt.

Except you're wrong.  Your link is irrelevant because we have information that contradicts what you stated.  No one even needs to read the link to know that.  All they have to know is that Nintendo has been paying to publish not only 3rd party games in the west, but also reached out and completely revived and funded Bayonetta 2, a 3rd party game that was previously only available on PS3 and 360.  It's not even JUST Bayonetta 2, but Devil's Third as well.  No doubt they're doing more than just this, and they have lightened up a LOT in terms of how they handle indie devs and the sort.  All of this information 100% contradicts the statement that Nintendo doesn't chase down 3rd parties to get games, and that Nintendo hasn't "learnt anything."  You need to actually research before you go talking about something you essentially know very little about.

Except those are exclusive deals they made and paid for- which are great but that is hardly indicative of how well they work with 3rd party devs-  it is very obvious to anyone who is willing and able to take an objective look at the issue-  the proof that Nintendo IS the primary if not only issue re lack of 3rs party support -  when business after business either cuts support or. Never bothers in the 1st place-  that is a Nintendo issue and Nintendo problem -   FYI the article In the link by Emily Rogers is an excellent article and very much gives I site into Nintendo s culture and philosophy-  I m sure some things have changed since then but the basic premise seems to still be in place today

This isn't just some 3rd party game. This is minecraft and would do well on Wii U. It has a gamepad.

Gamepad wouldn't make it any better of a game. It works perfectly fine with a mouse + keyboard and/or controller. No need to totally revamp the entire game's interface for the WiiU, which is probably what Nintendo told them they would have to do.

Now who's making unlikely assumptions?

Nintendo doesn't impose much on third parties anymore. They know they can't afford it. It's the lack of proactivity that's more harmful.

I am mentioning it as a possibility.

Sounds better than this constant conspiracy theory I see thrown around in regards to 3rd parties.

I can of course agree the fault is Nintendo for just sitting back and expecting games to come to their console without any work on their part. If this is indeed the main problem then people need to stop getting angry at 3rd parties and begin forcusing their complaints at Nintendo.

Don't Wii U owners always say they don't want multiplatform games and only need exclusives?

No

Who says that they are not working on it now? Maybe they don't want to spill the beans?

Nintendo did hint that they are looking into, or did some of you peeps forget that?

(like Nintendo not being good dealing with third parties)

They do seem to be working well with a lot of indie devs this gen

This 10 page thread is full of indie games coming to the Wii U

http://forums.gametrailers.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1353430

I personally think it's a perception issue, and not one that is mostly true today, Minecraft devs because of their success may expect more from Nintendo, but it appears that in general many other indie devs are happy working with Nintendo

Gamasutra asked Indie devs about how they felt working with Nintendo was like, general consensus below

"All developers we spoke with were happy with their experience in working with Nintendo. The company has apparently been generous with loaner development kits and general developer support. According to developers we spoke with, Nintendo has been responsive to the needs of the free-to-play business model as well."... Gamasutra

Still the Minecraft devs are in a position to ask for more and Nintendo may not be offering anything more than what they provide other devs, and a stalemate is the only result

So stupid! X1 sells bad but still gets it!

Notch doesn't like Nintendo because they don't bend of backwards for him.

XB1 still has a lower install base, why don't you g and check out how comparable third party games have fared on either system? There is your answer.

XB1 will be a HUGE audience for Minecraft, you do realise 360 is large in part why the franchise is so ridiculously huge right? 15m+ on Xbox 360.

To finalise, third parties have no obligation to support WiiU, and given you don't know what happens behind the scenes (like Nintendo not being good dealing with third parties) it looks a bit rich you demanding third parties to just support the WiiU simply because .. you want them too.

This isn't just some 3rd party game. This is minecraft and would do well on Wii U. It has a gamepad.

Exactly how well would it do???

It would sell VERY well. Most of the Wii U owners would buy it, and it would attract some new consumers to Wii U. Minecraft is huge, it would help Wii U for sure.

I agree with everything you said but this has nothing to do with Notch he is not the head of minecraft anymore
But ya if Minecraft came to Wii U I would buy day 1
