The Sims 4 was released in the US today, and currently on the Amazon, the average review is at 2.0/5 stars with 33 reviews. What didn't help was EA not giving any reviewers a copy so people were not warned about the game. To compare, SimCity 5 is currently at 1.5/5 stars with 4,045 reviews.

I wonder how many are actually legit reviews and not just trolls though.

The majority seem legit and aren't just one word or one sentence reviews just saying things like "The Sims sucks" and "Consoles are the best" etc

yeah i bet alot of those are just people who hate ea or trolls

Critic reviews, but MAINLY Lazy Game Reviewer's review are both going to play a role for me whether I should pick up the base game or not. I'm afraid the answer is a big no. The Sims 4 is in some aspects a downgrade from The Sims 3, and in less aspects an upgrade, which is it's main problem. I'm sure it'll get fixed with expansion packs, but of course, milking one base game seems to have become the strategy for Sims games, so it's nothing surprising.. Anyway, I won't really care about user reviews.

I don't have time for PC gaming.

Isn't that really how all Sims games work though? They spend a couple years making a load of expansions meaning the next game by itself can never match up until it has it's own repertoire of expansions.

oopsie.

Off topic but, did you change your avatar in between those 2 posts?

I changed it a little before that, but you were probably busy writing that post.

Worst part is that this time none of the reviews are about DRM. Ouch.

Hm. I might have to get used to it, but so far I find the UI to be too 'clean'/transparent, and I don't feel like the building options available in the base game, including furniture, impress me enough.

Loll EA strikes again!
