yes but not until they find a way to make it feel fresh and new, im not saying NSMBU is bad by any means but it just feels like too much of the same as previous entries.

I felt that Super Luigi U was fresh and I'm 35 years old and have played them all. I do agree that they need to go back to the drawing board though. Maybe Miyamoto should helm the entire thing and focus on it like the old days when he was working on the NES.

Ya Luigi U was a really cool add-on, it would be interesting if they did some similar DLC for other characters like New Super Peach U or New Super Wario U that have different gameplay styles.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Yes for Next gen - as always.

I don't think Nintendo should make another Mario period. At least not for a while. They've become waaaay too reliant on that name to push and really need to consider putting those talents and resources towards something else.

I would be OK with it, but the graphics engine needs a serious overhaul (too stale/bland, maybe make it more in the vein of Super Mario Bros. 3 with Wario Land Shake type graphics). And the music needs a serious bump too.

But since the Wii casual "too dumb to play games of any actual complexity" is gone, I don't think there should be any real rush.

Mario Galaxy 3 or even Mario 3D World 2 would be more interesting I think. NSMBU + Luigi U + NSMB2 + Mario Maker are plenty for a while.

I would have to agree. I'm on NSMBU burn out. I guess from the Wii's version to the Wii U's version so soon as made me want one for Nintendo's next console. Not this generation. Although another Mario is game is currently in the works, I definitely hope that it's not NSMBU2. I would lose a bit of respect from Nintendo. Hopefully it's like someone else said...a completely different engine.

No more mario 2D or 3D in a long while please, I already had too much of it with New Super Mario Bros U, Luigi U, 3D World and 3D Land. The fact that they are making consistent releases in the 3DS and WiiU, plus those of DS and Wii is creating fatigue in me and very likely in many other people.

Better not to overmilk Mario.

That's a terrible idea. Mario is the largest franchise in the gaming world by a long shot, and the series fans want more of. The great thing about Mario is that you can do so much with him. You can plant him in any type of game and fans will take notice. He's in almost every genre, and he was almost the head of a new shooter ip, but was taken off in the interest of making a new IP, an idea fans seem to be less than happy about because Splattoon has to be a success.

The fact that Mario is a centerpiece in the largest games in the platforming, racing, and fighting genres says a lot. Not to mention he's got a decent following (1m+) in sports, RPG, puzzle, and party games.

The bold in the post that you're replying to is what I believe he was ultimately saying. Also...he has a point. If Mario was the face of Splatoon, you would have gotten fans from others bashing it because they would say Nintendo can't do anything without Mario. Gotta give him a break here in there.  Think about if there was always something with Master Chief from Halo in different Xbox games, or something with Kratos in different PlayStation games. People would get burnt out by those characters. He's not saying don't ever do another Mario game. Just give Mario a rest for a bit before introducing another Mario game.

Oh and at your bolded. He's not the center of fighting games. That belongs to Street Fighter. Still Mario is popular in the field do to the brawler, Super Smash Bros.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........ (10000000000 YEARS LATER).......NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Seriously NOOO! The Wii and DS game were way more than enough already!
The 3ds game was just a copy of the DS game only with more coins! The WiiU version was the best, but still the same thing!
