Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox one Biggest mistake

When people talk about the xbox one and mistakes many things come to mind DRM, price kinect ect.

But one of their largest mistakes was lack of passion, determination and willingness to go the whole way. What do I mean?

The kinect if they had to package it in they should have gone much further. Not only package it with ther console but include a full exercise course (not just a couple lessons), full training in several martial arts, full dance training course and other such training courses. If they would have packaged these all in for free then advertised extremely and had xbox one with these training freely to use in every public place. Then I beleive they could have had a new success on their hands. But like most companies they didn't look far enough or be willing to stick the money needed into it to make a success.

They didn't have to stop there they could have included full classrooms for homeschooling and music lessons and so much more.

Also if they would have had full working professional programs such as photoshop, word ect .

It could be a Gamers pc replacement.

I approve of this randomness.

I see what you mean but I think it's biggest mistake is power.

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I suppose but I think it should have been a gaming machine first and an entertainment device second but their mentality was, entertainment device first and gaming device second which is a pretty bad mentality if the only reason people buy ur machine is cause of the games

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Another mistake beside DRM and kinect was investing a lot in entertainment. They gave NFL $400 million for that application. With that cash they could have funded 10 AAA games that are completely exclusive.

I agree about this and the power statement. But if they had to go the rote they went they needed to go much further.

They should have started with games and a more powerful console but since they already had the kinect they needed to use it to the fullest. I think they could still go this far even now but it won't work as well.

I agree the first time i heard of that my first thought was what the heck thats extremely stupid lol.

DRM, Kinect and price are the more tangible and easy to describe mistakes that MS made with Xone.

But for me, the negativity towards MS and Xbone started during the X360 days with the way they handled the console after 2010.

The focus on multimidia and games for Kinect like Fable Heroes and Star Wars Kinect made a lot of gamers lose faith in the platform.

Halo and timed exclusive DLC for COD weren't enough to keep these people.

The negativity of the xbox started at the reveal of the original xbox and has not stopped since.

OP as to your Kinect statement. They were not ready to launch in 2013. Their plan was '14. A ton would have been corrected if the launch date they planned would have worked out.
