Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS3 wasn't a Late Bloomer, Neither was 360 and Neither will Wii U

Yes the numbers present a clear picture. Wii U sales are abysmal.

I personally don't care , just waiting fir bayo 2, and hoping for the inclusion of a remastered xeno chronicles along with X. As long as I get m ok with 10 mil LT sales :p

looks even worse than i imagined =S those are pretty scary numbers, even if it does get better i doubt it will sell much in the end

Agree with OP. I think some people are just hanging on for it to be become a success but it's never going to happen.

It has sub 20m LTD on lock.

Yeah the sales are never going to be amazing. I think 20-25m. However I don't care as long as over the next few years we get some great games. I still love the game cube and its sales were poor but still it gave us games like Pikmin, Metroid Prime and Wind Waker. Games make systems not millions sold.

Just goes to show the power of the PlayStation brand. Would Nintendo and Microsoft go on to sell 80 million after a 600 dollar launch? Hell no.

Well after what PS2 did it was not a good start, and it is hard to call it good sales when X360/Wii were selling on a weekly basis better.

The Xbox one can do better than PS3 first year but still it will be called a failure for Xbox one.

Actually wasn't. It just started off with a huge lead. If the 360 sold better on a weekly basis, it doesn't really matter because we have the yearly sales, and the gap has shrunk.

no at the start I think the first two years the X360 made the gap bigger..

Must be sad when our favorite console with the great games in our head, sells so badly. I just hope Nintendo fans can find support in the games big N keeps putting on WiiU, and seeing it as a consolation prize.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Well they were technically "late bloomers" when comparing their starting sales and later sales, but i get what you mean.

Like i said in the other thread, the WiiU is in its second year and is selling worse at $300 than the PS3 did in its first at $600. The WiiU sold 54k this week versus the 92.5k that the PS3 sold during the same week back in 2007 (its worst year).

Sure the WiiU could suddenly find success, but it's not something any sane person who has looked at the facts would bet on.

Wow. I really liked Seeing this. People always talk about how it will come back like the ps3 that had a bad first year. I guess the ps3 really wasn't doing THAT awful. Certainly not great, but I wouldn't say it was bad.
