Forums - Sony Discussion - So is PS4 "saved" in Japan?

It's incredible that SCEJA announced a lot of games that cater to the Japanese audience and yet, the Asian branch of SCEJA will have another conference on the 17th. Just how much more stuff does Sony have in store?! o.O

Why exactly do they have another confrence planned?  Is it to counter Microsofts announcements with more games?  Microsoft is still doing something, right?

PS4 will do fine. anyway ps4 doesn't need japan to sell loads of consoles, it already got the major markets.

so everybody here will pretend that is all ps4 exclusives?

That's true. But what i'm pointing to is that you're not just voicing an opinion, but rather have an agenda. You can't make 387 bad comments about Sony related stuff and still pretend to be a neutral voice.

Right. In your opinion.

I don't believe it'll be enough due to the sharp decline in console sales in the land of the rising sun. Besides, just because we are interested in those PS4 games, doesn't mean that Japan is interested. Japan's tastes in games are... weird to say the least.

We'll see, but i've been following this site/sales and gaming for a while now to not know. They have a limited edition console and it was the highest trending topic on the japanese twitter after the announcement was made. So it seems they do care.

lol.

Well, the Japanese talk about of lot of stuff. Doesn't mean they'll go out and buy it.

A lot of us thought the PS4 was going to dominate in Japan, but the fact that it's doing worse than the PS3 speaks volumes on how the Japanese feel about the system.

Well don't get upset if people use that line to describe the WiiU's performance. Like i said downplaying is useless, we'll see in time.

To be honest, I don't think it's enough.

You need to stop with the constant downplaying. Since joing the site you have yet to make one unsnarky comment about anything Sony related. These games will certainly help and we're just getting started.

I have a right to an opinion, just like you do. In my humble opinion, I don't think it's enough. You may disagree, but that's as far as I believe you need to go with this.

Vita is a handheld still it's don't sell well it's all about game man whaterever it's a handheld or a home consoles if it have popular games it will sell well if it don't it will fail

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I don't see Monster Hunter; PS4 is not saved.

Aren't most of them console exclusive to the PS4 in Japan though?

It's LOADS better than what it started out with, that's for damn sure. I applaud Sony for giving Japan the attention it deserves.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Ps4 will dominate the home console market .

I still remember when people were laughing when we were saying japanese games would come on ps4, good time

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Sony should cut the price cut in Japan next year to rise their chances a little bit better.
