Forums - Sony Discussion - So is PS4 "saved" in Japan?

Yeah, at the expense of the Vita. Most of those games are either multiplat from PS3/Vita or either enhanced ports.
And while the ps3 is dead in Japan, Vita only has Japan as a relevant market.

So it's pretty much known by now that Sony can't support two consoles at the same time (at least in japan)

Good 2015 lineup, but I doubt that it will outsell the PS3 in it's life time because home consoles are in harsh decline in Japan.

Unless Sony release a cheap Slim version very early in PS4 lifecycle (with a lot of bundles with popular Japanese games and special edition case colours released at regular intervals) to counterbalance home consoles decline with other more favourable starting conditions.

Wouldnt say ''saved'' but some of those titles will give it a nice boost

To be honest, I don't think it's enough.

You need to stop with the constant downplaying. Since joing the site you have yet to make one unsnarky comment about anything Sony related. These games will certainly help and we're just getting started.

I have a right to an opinion, just like you do. In my humble opinion, I don't think it's enough. You may disagree, but that's as far as I believe you need to go with this.

Ps4 about to go full super sayan everywhere, while the competition might late bloom

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

That's true. But what i'm pointing to is that you're not just voicing an opinion, but rather have an agenda. You can't make 387 bad comments about Sony related stuff and still pretend to be a neutral voice.

Right. In your opinion.

I don't believe it'll be enough due to the sharp decline in console sales in the land of the rising sun. Besides, just because we are interested in those PS4 games, doesn't mean that Japan is interested. Japan's tastes in games are... weird to say the least.

It's incredible that SCEJA announced a lot of games that cater to the Japanese audience and yet, the Asian branch of SCEJA will have another conference on the 17th. Just how much more stuff does Sony have in store?! o.O

We'll see, but i've been following this site/sales and gaming for a while now to not know. They have a limited edition console and it was the highest trending topic on the japanese twitter after the announcement was made. So it seems they do care.

lol.

Well, the Japanese talk about of lot of stuff. Doesn't mean they'll go out and buy it.

A lot of us thought the PS4 was going to dominate in Japan, but the fact that it's doing worse than the PS3 speaks volumes on how the Japanese feel about the system.

Fairy Fencer F Advent Force is the sequel (or prequel) to the PS3 game Fairy Fencer F, which while not as popular as the tales games, was indeed a good game so it getting a sequel for the PS4 is big news for the fans (like me).

and to answer your question: YES its saved, it will do really good in japan, PS consoles always get more and more games every year, and if this are the announcements on the very FIRST year... then imagine the amount of games the PS4 will get in 3 years from now, it has a bright future filled with good japanese games.
