You can't compare it to PS360 because it's still tracking waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below both of them with aligned launches.

As for this paragraph:
"Mario Kart 8 is a game that, on its own, was able to up the U's baseline from just not doing much (30k weekly) to a reasonable number (60k weekly)."

In reality it's more like this:
"Mario Kart 8 is a game that, on its own, was able to up the U's baseline from selling like shit (30k weekly) to just selling really badly (60k weekly)."

Edit: Do you mean late bloomer as in will sell ~ 30 million because it's baseline will increase a bit, or late bloomer as in will do more than 50 million because its baseline would increase madly?

Please don't confuse me for a fanboy but I feel as though most of the statements above were more opinion based and less fact based.

Also one has to realise that even though 60k per week isn't anything compared to rival product(s) the  (the ps4) and Nintendo's own, the N3DS.

However Nintendo still managed to increase the sales of their product by 100 percent with the release of one software. This feat hasn't been accomplished by neither Sony or Microsoft this generation. Not to mention other releases such as Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, and the huge Super smash bros. are sure to rise up sales from a mediocre 60 k (which still generates a profit) to lets say up 10k per game for arguments sake.

Not to mention the demand for amiibo is ridiculously fucking high;

For the reasons above I feel as though the wii u will definately be a late bloomer. Do I think it will rise up to ps4's level.. Fuck No, but i do beleive it will stay ahead of the Xbone and hold up decently well.

The only thing what could make the Wii U as late bloomer, is the return of third party support and great marketing.

I doubt we will see those things for the Wii U.

But how many people actually bought the Wii for any of its third party games?

Nintendo is no longer targeting the wider audience from the Wii. Third party support is far more important for the more core audience.

Third party support gives a bigger value to a console. Which is one of biggest problems of the Wii U. Percecption of value is lacking for it.

PS3 was a late boomer. PS3 entered puberty in 2010. I can see the Wii U hitting puberty by 2015 for the latest.

The WiiU will enter puberty during the date of 9th of July '10...
