I'm in agreement with your statement.  Mario Kart 8 helped the baseline when it came to weekly sales but with Nintendo focusing on hardcore gamers more this generation then I can see Super Smash Bros. Wii U helping the Wii U sell more in the long run.

This would be awesome to buy!!  I wish they had done something with a custom theme for the Wii U when Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U!!  However, if Nintendo can do something like this for when SSB Wii U is release that would help hardware sales even more.  Look at Xbox One with Call of Duty: AW.  That custom theme makes me want to purchase one just for that.

It would be a miracle if the Wii U outsells the GC in five years time. Doesnt look like it so I cant see Smashes sales going over 3-3.5 M if it launches anywhere near this time period.

Smash will do very well on Wii U.

Why are people thinking it will do well? Cause they are excited to play it.

Why does everything have to be about sales numbers? Sometimes, its about enjoyable games.

There are plenty of differences between the audience of the Wii and Wii U. Nothing on Wii U will sell as much as their equivalent on the Wii unless its a niche game.
