Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do you think Nintendo should upgrade the Wii U like they did with the 3DS?

I could see it happening.

Slimmer/sleaker gamepad
Longer battery life
Greater off TV play distance
USB 3.0 support
64gb flash storage
Faster CPU
4gb RAM (2 for games, 2 for OS)

I'm with you until you said faster CPU and more RAM. That would make it a whole new system. I would not be ok with that. The other stuff would be fine upgrades because it wouldn't affect the games like a new CPU and RAM would.

I agree w you- although I really wish they had done the 1st 4 items on the list from the start-  particularly longer batt life and a greater range-  what is the point in a "tablet like" device that has no more range than a Wii mote and batt life that is truly constricting

Fuck no.
They'd be flushing their home console business down the toilet if they did that.

That's never going to happen and and they'd be pissing on their fans if they did that.

So either everyone who suggest this are morons or no one remembers the Sega CD and Sega Saturn and the extremely early release of the Dreamcast that pretty much killed third party for Sega....

This is a sure fire way to lose all the third party they have left and the support base.

I can stand outside in my backyard and still play games. My Wii U shoots that video signal through cement and ground of my basement, no lag. I really have no idea why people complain about range. Dont be stupid with it. It's the same requirements as other things. Don't stick it in the middle of metal shelves make sure  there is no interferance (like similar wireless ranges) in the area. Hell the PS3 wifi is greatly effected by cedar wood

No, screw fragmentation. The best part of buying consoles is knowing that you will be able to play games on it even five or six years later. The New 3DS was bad enough, but please leave fragmentation the hell away from the Wii U.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

I could imagine one with a restyled gamepad with better battery and screen one day. Maybe with a harddrive.

If they want to shoot themselves in the foot, sure, why not? Otherwise, no.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

No, but maybe a new revision with ethernet port, SATA3 slot and longer battery life.
