Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The 2DS: Good idea, poor execution?

Many people bought the 2DS. Apparently it was responsible for a rise of 3DS sales in UK last year than the year before.

One of my friends has one. I don't think it's a failed execution. It's just another option for people to choose. It's obviously not the choice for everyone or majority.

I would've bought it if it wasn't for the bad design. It should've been shaped like the 3ds. I'm glad I didn't though, cuz now I can buy the new 3ds

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

The design was probably Nintendo's attempt to tap into the 'tablet' market, as funny as that sounds. "Kids want an iPad the most? Let's give them a Nintablet!"

It looks too much like a cheap kids toy, but if you're a parent of a kid who wants a 3DS and wants to save a few bucks, nothing wrong with it.

I can see that. A 2DS is about £90 while a 3DS XL is £200 and the regular 3DS is usually about £150. Thats a serious saving if buying for a kid (which the marketing targets the model at). The regular 3DSs are just massively overpriced here.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

True. But I managed to get a new Zelda Xl for £180

Jammy git. Mine was £199 but I did get £5 of nectar points lol

I don't know it almost made me buy one a year ago. I will wait though for a year or two to see how the "New" 3DS effects the 2DS in terms of how much it sells and I will wait untill they go down to 30 euro equivalent too $35, usually nintendo handhelds reach that point when they are just going out of their prime. I bought a Nds lite for 25 euro equivalent to $30 back in late 2010.
