Many people still think that the PS4 will sell less than 100 million... i read predictions like 90,000,000-80,000,000... obviously this is an opinion, but i only have one question...

HOW IS THE OSSIBLE!?

Seriously, why are so many people  pessimist?

Many people think that thePS4 will sell like the PS3... only because it has the same brand?

Yep, and the Wii U will sell like the Wii because it has the same brand. Agree?

No please... PS3, is the home console with less successful of Sony , and have sold 80,000,000, probabily between 90,000,000 and 95,000,000 lifetime...

So, how is possible for PS4, the console with more successful of Sony  sell like PS3?????????

PS4 have sold even more than PS2... console that have sold 160,000,000.

Why this post? Because too much people predict less than 100 million... Too much...

Honestly, in my opinion, the minimum will be 120,000,000, but i have write 100,000,000 because most people predict less.

PS4 will be a console like the sales PS2, or little less, not like PS3 or even less.

And please, don't write "PS4 have sold less than Wii and Wii have sold 100,000,000"

The Wii is a Nintendo console.

The Nintendo console don't have legs like Sony console, and you know.

If you want make a comparasion, make a comparasion with PlayStation console.

And if make this comparsion: PS4 have sold more than the PS2, PS1, and more double than PS3.

Is more probabily that PS4 will sell more than PS2, that sell less than PS3.

PS4 will sale 100m + for sure, how much more depends...... on a hell o a lot, but things are looking good.

ps4 has locked 100m,however there is a market shrinkage,it  wont pass 100m 

I think the reason people think the PS4 can't eclipse 100 Million will be due to a shorter generation although it remains to be seen.

I think 100m-115m is probable. The PS4 does not have the early support of Japan like the PS2 did, nor the price value (I doubt the PS4 goes under $200 like the PS2 did eventually) so I doubt it comes near that number. Also this generations is probably going to be a year or two shorter than last.

Honestly, I do think that it will break 100 million, but not by much. I think PC gaming and tablet/mobile gaming will take away more people from that middle ground that consoles rule.

Steam & better internet connections worldwide will make newcomers transition from consoles to PC at a greater rate. Now this is just opinion on many of my friends that 360/PS3 was their last console and are now on or going to PC.

The factors to take into consideration are the overall size of the market for game consoles relative to the 6th and 7th generations, and then the projected market percentage the PS4 in particular could be expected to take, based upon existing trends.

It's not that simple obviously, but if there's a total market for say 200 million consoles over the entire duration of the 8th gen and the PS4 holds 50% marketshare, there's that 100 million number.
