You do know this is most probably replacing the current 3DS line and not an addition to it like the 2DS was, right?


Replacing the 3DS Line? I dont think right away (like Vita to Vita Slim), im thinking 3DS original to fade out while the XL+2DS will remain in the market for another year or 2 (especially 2DS).

The N3DS will definitely help out in the long run. It'll probably make 2015>2014 in sales (meaning it'll not decline next year again) and its launch will be huge as its kinda brand new. Many Hardcore Nintendo fans will eat this up. 10mil, here it comes :0

This is basically the 3DSi. Not sure why people are up in arms, the DS had the same basic revision schedule.

I think its damn stupid. If Nintendo starts to support the New 3DS it's going to leave behind 45mil people.

Xenoblade was a niche RPG. With the publicity it's gotten from Smash, it's sequel, Smash, being the poster child for the New 3DS, Smash, how impressive a handheld game it will be with a map size supposedly larger than Skyrim, and especially Smash, it will be a huge reason for people, specifically snobby hardcore gamers, to buy the system.

No it's still is a niche RPG. Just because hardcore gamers are freaking about it does not mean the mass market cares.

I agree with that, but the Fire Emblem is the same way. I don't think it will be a Mario or Zelda, but a game that big on a handheld is sure to sell systems. Skyrim. Handheld. People will buy it purely for the novelty.

Far far less than 44 million units that the original one sold. And if they make major games that won't play on the 44 million units sold, said game will suffer just like SS (you have to buy a new controller to play it).

I am all for revisions, but seperating your user base is a bad move. Hopefully their bigger games aren't exclusive because it's going to be a nightmare for them.

I dont think anybody was thinking close to 44mil. That be a 90mil+ userbase O.o

That said, i think we should wait. Its currently 1 game, and might not be as many as many think. It could just be 4-6 games lifetime not compatible without the N3DS.

We'll find out eventually, there are games coming out next year that we kno wont need the N3DS.
