Well if you don't give all or most credit to a CEO, then how is time on the job relevant at all? Either way, he's been in charge of SCEI since 2006 so that's longer than 4 years (meaning that his changes would start to take notice right around the time PS3 really started turning the tide, 2009-2010). Before that, he was in charge of SCEA (Just America instead of international since 1999) which was directly proceeded by the PS2, the best selling console of all time. Then, in 2011 he was appointed CEO/President of Sony CORP. which meant he had control (with approval from the board) of the full company. I'd certainly credit him for, at the very least, an incredibly successful history within the gaming division; He may also hold responsibility for the failure of the PS3 launch but again, that got turned around and I think shareholders/board of directors have enough faith to let him try and recussitate most of the other divisions that have been posting net losses year over year.
