??? When you donate, you can choose to allocate 100% of the donation to research... How is that a fraud?  You can choose to have absoslutely no money is going to the ceo or anything else...

79% are going to Research + Patients + Education. There is no further breakdown so how can the article say that is not going to the ALS cause?

14% going to fundraising - that is part of operational costs to get funds for the cause.

Now that they have received $100 million+ this year then it's going to change all the percentages, so admin + fundraising costs will be a smaller %.

Yeah we should hold this organisation accountable, but it's hard to see foul play just from this article, even though it is trying to make it sound like a total fraud.

Also there is a huge chunk of that pie dedicated to Public and professional education, this is actually just as important as actual research. It spreads awareness, increases good practice and improves the lives of many current sufferers (whilst research only benefits in the future). Patient and Community Services are a further 19%. People think that's an insignificant thing to invest in?

Those 3 areas alone are 78% of charitable donations. Fund raising goes towards generating further revenue,  so although it's 14%, the intention is it generates more than that in the future. A whopping 7% is actually being spent on salaries etc.

Charities such as Oxfam have been found to be far worse with your donations than this.

Please read the thread, that article in the OP is a complete fabrication for hits. Infact if you could actually read even the OP you would see that 7% of the money collected here is going to the administration which includes all fees for handling money and buildings in use it's actually a tiny amount of all that collected.

The OP would do everyone a service and change the title to indicate the quoted article is a fraud from a "satire website" and has been debunked.
