With both Smash and MK8 for these Christmas holidays, the Wii U could pull some seriously nice numbers.
Sadly, just about every major Wii U game from Nintendo so far has seen some form of delay, and the date for the first MK8 DLC pack leaves November suspiciously booked. (Along with Sonic Boom)
Just as the Mercedes DLC this month smacked of an apology for the game drought we've been enduring, and just as Activision recently and out of the blue delivered the Black Ops II DLC we were promised a year and a half ago as a placation for Advanced Warfare not coming to Wii U, I can just see this conveniently timed DLC drop as Nintendo's attempt to make up for not having a proper blockbuster holiday game.
This just seems like the kind of thing modern Nintendo would do; pass up what could be their last chance to pull respectable numbers, and try to ride it out on the wings of an old game.
I deeply hope that I'm wrong, but I'm usually not.
