Germany:Demand for PS4 is x6 higher than for the 2nd most popular console the WiiU! Also and Finally, WiiU HW #s LTD+MK8...

 

 

Yes it sounds crazy but according to current reports the second most popular current-gen console in Germany is the WiiU. Nintendo sold around 350,000 units while SONY managed to sell 540.000 PS4s. Microsoft has only sold 170.000 Xbox Ones.

The german price comparison portal billiger.de says that the demand for the PS4 is six times higher than for the WiiU. They even say that the demand for the Xbox 360 is higher than for the One.

One reason for the WiiU sales is Mario Kart 8, says Bernd Fakesch, head of the German branch. The game sold 150.000 times here in Germany and the software sales for the Wii U have increased overall by about 141% compared to last year.

So, many of us thought wiiu be overtracked like crazy in Europe, i think we recently got France numbers and weare fine there with tracking but Germany its undertracked by 80k+!!!

These values are in synch with what i see around the shops here in mainland europe. It should also be taken into account that second tier countries imported some of those X1's, so the install base might be even lower in the tier 1 markets.

Europe is definitly looking like a difficult sell to microsoft. It is logical to me, because we europeans dont easily take the kind of abuse that happened on that reveal and E3 and forgive. Added to that, the Playstation brand has always sponsored the Champions league wich made the Playstation the most popular system in europe.
As far as europe goes, this is PS2 all over again.

It is still a mystery to me why anyone would choose XOne over PS4, except if they are really really huge fans of a few games and simply cannot live without them.

Because in every other category PS4 is superior and offers much better value for money.

Thus it's not surprising that WiiU is 2nd, because it offers something for those interested in a different kind of games.
