Forums - Sales Discussion - XB1 below 50k this week

Yes, the PS3 is about to catch up to the XB1 in weekly sales!

It happens often that the XB1 is below 50k a week, there are even weeks where it's around 35k... those who think this is a sure shot that it will over sell the Wii U over its lifetime are overly optimistic, there are real chances if it never reaching second position (however I would not bet the other way around either).

The XBone should still still outsell Wii U overall eventually. Wii U is doing so well because this is pretty much it's peak year, when you look at how many games Nintendo will have released by years end. Pretty much happens with every Nintendo console. Once the Wii U hits another games, probably after SSB, it'll fall back below the XBone.

No. Check it for yourself. And yes I'm completely disregarding the PS4's second week for valid reasons.

The numbers must have been adjusted up. I definitely remember seeing the PS4 dipping below 100k, and I definitely remember seeing it dip below the 3DS for numerous weeks.

The numbers were adjusted at least twice over the last few months. Last time they jumped from 100k to 115k and now is the necessary next big adjustment.

But now that you said it, with the new adjustments PS4 outsold 3DS every week this year with the exception of the first week which was also partly in 2013.

Further adjustments are still necessary, btw. PS4 is still undertracked by 200-300K, but it's much closer now, for sure.

On another thread, I tried to tell a guy that Xbox One will never recover fully in Europe. The Wii U will win the 2nd console prize in Europe. Xbox One will eventually recapture 2nd by a wide margin in America. We all know the console market is and will continue to track weak overall in Japan. Once a couple key Japanese centric games release on PS4 it will over take Wii U. Xbox One will again be nonexistent in Japan. While I love all systems, this is coming from a Nintendo diehard.

I'm not convinced the PS4 will overtake the WiiU in Japan unless Sony can get MH5 and DQVIIIR/DQX/DQXI combo. FF has lost a LOT of its appeal and I'm not sure XV is enough for it to get its mojo back. KH is a big question mark on how it'll do at this point.

People still trust sales figures on this site?

Around the Network

Sales rate of PS4 since its launch  has been selling on average 1 million per month.
Sales rate of XBox One has been selling 500k per month over 10 months.
Sales rate of Wii U  has been a little over 300k per month.

Hopefully sub 50k is the calm before the storm as XBox One sales pick up over the last 3 months of 2014.

At this point in time, Microsoft doesn't have anything other than the less than enticing Kinect to make the XBone more attractive than PS4.  Bundles for Madden, and to a lesser extent Sunset overdrive, will help, but other than that I don't see things changing much.  Halo Anniversary won't be enough to reverse the trend.  They really needed an original Halo or at least Gears for this holiday.

I wrote about this on the thread asking if Sony has lost Japan. I said it was Nintendo's to lose. However, I do believe the Japanese game market is simply waiting for a real reason to buy the PS4. They aren't that far behind the Wii U on weak titles, once something meaningful releases they likely will over take Wii U. I think if Nintendo would do something substantial with Pokemon for Wii u and I don't mean Pokken - though that will be fun.

US PS4 outsold Xbox One worldwide? I'm gonna pass on my Xbox purchase this gen and go PS4 only. Maybe pick up a WiiU later on.

imo PS4+ Wii U is best combo

Yep definately.

Sony and Nintendo exclusives and the best version of 3rd party games.

You're missing the least with this combo IMO

one more week this Kind of Topics

im glad it will stop then

Or you could avoid these topics altogether, if they bother you that much.

OT: I thought this was weird, too, but apparently, it has already happened.

I avoid topics like religious debates and politics. I wonder why its so much harder for some people to avoid sales related threads.
