Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan Sales Week 34 (August 18 - 24)

Wow this has me worried for Hyrule Warriors in the west..Temco is expecting 1 Million units sold...they better vamp up their advertisement effort.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I thought ps3 was suddenly dead for a second.
Sharp drops everywhere though.

And thank's Kres for the Famitsu digital numbers, if we do some maths: P4G sold 12.659 in July (which is abysmal when the TV show is airing)

Hold on, are you really trying to tell me that 12k in 1 month is abysmal for a 2012 remake of a 2008 game in 2014?? All because of a remake of a 2011 anime is currently being aired
How many games released in 2012 sold 12k in Japan alone last month?? If anything, its signs of a success.

Mario Kart 7 (2011 game) sold over that :)   SSBX (2008) and AC (2012) could of been close to tht as well :p

So what your saying is P4G was having Nintendo like legs last month. As I stated earlier, Nintendo are the kings of legs. Atlus just took it too them. Definite sign of a success.

Oh dear

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Diablo III and TLOS did better than I expected but damned the WIIU sales are horrible and PS4 still not manage to pass it...

2 new ps4 game relase, but still a 1k console drop?

maybe the tlofu and d3 bump happend last week!? :D

Last week was Obon, so it generated a small bump for all consoles (bigger for Nintendo ones), so you can say that the new releases kept the PS4 for dropping below 5K, but it looks like most of the people who are interested on western games already have the console.

After Holiday effect HW 106k--> 69k , YW2 150k--> 70K( sold out at some few retailers but 50% is significant)

Barrett Girls sold out at some retailers and only 31k?? Was D3 Publisher so scared due to "Onee-chan Bara Z Kagura"'s flop(15k FW) to ship a minimum of Copy??

Next week persona 4 Ultimax will probably take the lead.

COMG has shown time and time again (apart from Re;birth 1) that there is a disproportionate amount of Neptunia fans compared to the rest of Japan.  Hyper Goddess Noire had 70 points and yet had a ratio of 1: 393, with the game selling pretty much on par with all the other Neptunia Vita games (27-30k FW).

I really wouldn't expect too much from Neptunia U.  It might perform a bit better than the others ( > 30k) but I wouldn't expect much more than that.  Ratio will be bad.

But maybe we shouldn't see Neptune U as just a Neptunia game. It's Neptunia + Musô-like + cloth destruction, it is bound to attract beyond niches RPGs circles. I'm sure there are people wanting some fan-service without going through 50h of a complicated RPG.

I'm inclined to think Geki Noire was the anomaly. How much was Re:Birth1 COMG score before release?
