1. Yeah it is very possible it wont sell 10+. However Halo 4 was tracking above Halo Reach up until Xbox One released hurting its legs. Even then its very likely Halo 4 has outsold Reach if you include digital, and who knows how that compares with Halo 3 numbers if you count digital as well condsidering digital was much more popular once halo 4 was out compared to halo 3
2. Weird you talk about Halo not being a 10m franchise but then go on to name Gran Turismo and Mario. Have you looked at the recent installments? Gran Turismo 6 is at 2.41m, New Super Mario Bros U is at 4.16m, and Super Mario 3D World is at 2.21m. So using your logic, then these games arent 10m franchises either. Though to be fair Mario will continue to sell as WiiU continues to sell. Reaching 10m may or may not happen
3. XBO is down in america and Europe, no doubt. Then again Halo pushes consoles, thats a fact. 7m is very possible, but i want you to remember Halo 2 sold 7m on 25m consoles. It really depends on how well XBO sales to whether it will be near Halo 4 or Halo 2 numbers

1. Halo 4 was released as the xbox 360's last hurrah, to an installbase that's going to be the largest an install base is going to be for a halo game. It was massively frontloaded, and even then it was only barely outpacing Reach, untill its legs died halfway through 2013.
2. Both have more 10 million selling mainline games than not. GT6 was a cash grab to fund GT7 on the next gen and should have never been released. Of course the latest home marios aren't going to break 10 million when the install base isn't even at 10 million. Try looking at the 3ds that has MK7 and 3d land that are 6 months top from breaking 10 million....
3. Yet, the best Halo could do on an install base 3 and a half times larger is sell only 1.4 times as well, shows that the franchise hasn't really grown from 8 million of Halo 2. XBO sales are dreadful and only going to get (relatively) worse, which means that according to (almost) everybody on this site, not do that well really as people think this gen will shrink.

Haha, wrong on so many levels but a reply is needed to counter the irrationality presented here:
1. What you said here is irrelevant o the discussion. The fact is, Halo 4 is closing in on 10 million copies sold including digital. It is the best selling Microsoft Studios game in the United States. It faced heavy competition from Call of Duty and other FPS games, something Halo 3 did not have to really compete with as Call of Duty was in its infancy then.
2. You know what is really "a last hurrah" that failed miserably? It's called Gran Turismo 6. It sold 2.4 million copies on an install base of 80 million+, a massive 8 million less than Gran Turismo 5. The proof is right in front of you. It is actually GT which the declining franchise not Halo .
3. Xbox One sales will get worse when their big blockbuster hitters have yet to release? That is illogical and hillarious. Fact is, Halo MCC and Halo 5 will be system sellers and nothing Sony has can match the blockbuster that is Halo. Also, the reason Halo hasn't grown is because there is much stiffer competition today in the gaming market, especially in online shooters. Halo 2 & 3 had very little competition. Halo has remarkably held its audience well, despite facing more and more competition from the likes of Call of Duty, Battlefield and other shooters that have flooded the market. With that context, Halo has shown to have a core and dedicated fanbase still going strong more than a decade later.
