I'm actually quite convinced theres some mindf***ery going on here, and fully expect to only get hints of something not being quite right until hitting midway or end part of game and the truth hits you in the face with a frying pan.

That seems like a stretch, I'm going to be honest I didn't watch the video because it's way too long but Grey Fox around the same time as the Phantom Pain is in Africa fighting in the civil wars there. Also I just don't really see a logical or Kojima reason why Venom Snake would be Grey Fox.
