I'm on Chapter 7 fighting the 1st boss, Batomys. It's a big ass tank that Maximillian is using to destroy my camps.

How IN GODS NAME do you beat this bitch? The bastard has like 6 turrets all around it that will pretty much kill your squad if they come out from cover or get too close to the tank. You have to beat the tank before it destroys your 3 camps. You also have to bomb a few ruin walls so they fall in the way of Batomys slowing it down. Then it uses it's main cannon to blow away the rubble in its way making it's 3 radiators become vulnerable.

On my 1st try, i was doing everything right. It blew away the rubble with it's main cannon, the radiators became vulnerable, i climbed up the tank, threw a grenade in the radiators and blew them up EXCEPT for the rear radiator. How am i supposed to blow it up? I threw 2 grenades in it on different occasions but nothing happens when it explodes. The health just does not go down. WTF!!

It also doesn't help that Carl2291 comes and completely wipes out the whole squad with ease.

This boss is RIDICULOUS. I threw the grenades in the 3 radiators and they all blew up EXCEPT the one in the back.

Who has played Valkyria Chronicles and beat this BASTARD!? 

Climb the tank ASAP and use a sniper rifle to take out the shocktroopers and then don't use the bazooka guys (they're slow) wait a bit (just hide behind cover) till it takes the first area and then show off the engine things. when it does just use a scout and throw grenades in it. and then wait again and ignore Carl2291 she just moves around.

After you took out all the generators just use your tank and spam attack on it you will not get hit at all.

Its a pretty easy boss actually the annoying thing about it is the shocktroopers if you don't take care of them they'll get you cornered.

Carl2291(Selvira) was on the left side of the tank and it was hard to get up that back ladder without Selvira DESTROYING them before even getting up the damn thing.

I was basically down to 3 characters, Welkin(Edelweiss tank) with treads completely destroyed and only like 1 hit's worth of health left, Vyse(Shocktrooper), and Hector(Lancer). So i miraculously got Vyse up the back ladder, threw my last grenade in the radiator and it didn't do anything. So i attempted to use hector to blow it up but it needed 4 shots from the lancer and my max capacity is 3. My engineer was wiped out early so.. Yea

I guess ill have to try using the lancer on the rear radiator? Because grenades wont seem to work for whatever reason?

this boss was well annoying, sections in game are far too difficult imo

I do recall you have to take out minions first and then destroy radiators

it's due to bits like this it always ruins enjoyment for me, hope you finish this level

Well i had a REALLY GOOD SNIPER (Marina) i spawned her at the building thats on the upper right corner of the map, basically right in front of the enemy forces, she took out most of the lancers and tropers, of course i used a supply character to give her more bullets.

after that i put all my lancers on a safety zone out of range of the enemys giant TANK and then i did not attack it, i just waited till it advanced a little and then, if im not wrong maximillian must shot a giant pillar thats on his way, when he does that hes weak spots are revealed (5 generators, 1 on the back and two on each side) then i used my lancers and welkins tank to take out all of the tank main machineguns so the lancers could get on top of the tank and shot the generator in point blank, also you dont really need to do this since you can shoot the generators with welkins tank at long range.

NOTE, if maximillian doesnt shoot the pillar to reveal his weakspots then YOU must shoot the pillars first in order for them to fall and get in his way, THEN Maximillian will be forced to shoot them therefore revealing his weakpoints, after that keep shooting every pillar so he is forced to keep revealing his weakspots. and keep shooting those weakspots with lancers and Welkins Tank.

SELVARIA

when she gets on the battle zone JUST IGNORE HER, and hide all of your characters except the TANK (she cant destroy the tank at this point in the game) si hide your characters because she will kill them in one shot at almost any range. and keep shoting the generator on Maximillian tank, because at this point you should have taken down enough pillars for him to be very busy shooting his main gun and revealing his weakpoints.

thats how i beat it, any doubts or questions ask me.

NOTES:

1) Grenades dont damage the generators. Throw grenades inside of the generator for an instant kill.

2) Let the tank pass and dont get in its way just shoot down the pillars, wich will stop him

3) Dont get in the range of the tanks main cannons (not its MAIN weapon but the two big cannons on both his front and back) so basically stay at his sides, this of course applies to Welkins tank.

4) Use snipers to take out the infantry enemy units its safer and faster

5) remember to use orders to increase your Anti Tank Damage and Accuaracy

6) if you still have trouble then its time to get back to the training camp and get a lot of experience, level up your characters and get better equipment.

Cant remember how I beat this boss specifically, however, although I absolutely LOVE this game it was way too easy and I never had any problems running through it. Very easy to "exploit". Not trying to sound like an ass though, and sorry for not giving you any good tips.

OH... i never got them INSIDE of the generators, i didnt knew that, i tried once but it bounced of and blew up in front of the generator but didnt do any damage, i didnt knew that. i will fix my post then.
