If China is the new hotspot for the XB1, do you think it will become bigger than Xbox in the US?

Keep in mind 360 was just one generation.

I mean just like the 360 in the US, the XB1 is gonna have an uncontested streak for a while.

And frankly, I think that at best, XB1 will tie in the US with the PS4, cause that region is not only not brand loyal at all, but strongly favors the leading platform.

Not to mention, Xbox's PC relationship, and if its uncontested in China, then its PC vs XB1 and the XB1 has the price power advantage, at least to China's growing middle class.

In other words, what I'm saying is China is the new America for Xbox Globally in the US.

did vgchartz hand out crazy pills today? some very bizarre and absurd predictions.

"According to CNN's online global wage calculator, which uses data from the International Labor Organization, the average annual salary of a worker in China's private sector was 28,752 yuan (about $4,755) in 2012, or 38% of the global average."

most of china can't afford a console, especially one priced at $600, 12.6% of their annual salary. they will be lucky to sell this 5m period, let alone talking about additional shipments.

I dont think the xbox one will do very well in china, but not because there arent people there that can afford it.  You have to realize there are 2 billion people that live in china.  80% of that population are certainly very poor and cant afford it.  However, that still leaves 400 million people in the middle/upper class that can afford to buy it.  That is larger than the population of the united states...

Personally, I dont think it will do well because it is region locked and heavily censored.  It can be imported for the same or less on the grey market with less restrictions.  But even then the grey market xboxs wont have access to live, which great dimishes the use of the console.  I think most people there will just be soured by their options...

I don't know if this topic is serious or not, so i will avoid posting any Gif.

So i will just post my prediction here : They will not even sell one million in china, lifetime.

And with 1 million...i think i'm too far from reality, i should have said 300k.

I don't expect the X1 to sell well in China at all considering the rules about which games can be released there.

!!!Warning Snarky comment incoming!!!!:

Guys guys guys.. you have to understand those consoles aren't being sold as gaming consoles in China. Dem big ass boxes are being sold as affordable housing :P BAzinga!

!!!!!

Seriously tho even if it doesn't sell well with any luck this will help inspire and create new generations of Chinese game devs that may very well improve the industry in the future, or at least offer a new and unique perspective which is good for everyone.

A recent Chinese gamer poll shows 5 times more interest in PS4 than XBone.

Considering this is Henry we're talking about, I really doubt that he was being serious with this thread...

Chine will be HUGE market for games if they fully open the market. Big enough to put Japan in 3rd place and, in the future, maybe even get to number 1.
Microsoft releasing there first will be the only chance Xbone can catch to PS4 by the end of 2015 holidays.
I just wonder if the fact that PS4 and Nintendo are japanese may play any role in defining sales in China, since chinese and japanese are always in a "cold war" and there is a lot of hate, specially from chinese towards japanese.

The Xbox one is readily available on the grey market in China already. What makes you think it will suddenly sell shitloads?

I expect China will approve 5 million PS4 sales when they get the release confirmed. But by that time Xb one might be on it's next 5 million batch.

I see this figure being pedaled alot, they've allowed a maximum allocation of 5 million to date, not that a shipment of 5 million consoles has been finalized or will be happening in one go, there's also no solid gurantee that they will permit an additional allocation of either console beyond the initial figure.

Additionally, this is a country where the region with the highest average MONTHLY wage before tax is $755, elsewhere the national average hovers around 3350 yuan, ($540), anyone expecting the day one shipment to be the same as the current lifetime global sales, of 5 million, or that these 5 million allocated sales units will shift in a short amount of time, are in for quite the shock.

And that isn't exclusive to xbox, either, PS4 is going to do equally as shitty out there.
