So you by your logic then, Since the Playstation 4 sold more consoles than the Xbox One in the first year, then the Playstation 4 has already won this generation.
As I recall the Playstation 3 was behind the Xbox 360 after the first year, and after a couple years was able to catch the Xbox 360.
So why is now impossible for the Xbox One to catch the Playstation 4.
And don't tell me about the current situation, because like I said the current situation can change.

Maybe because the Xbox 360 was released about 1 year earlier than the PS3... are you for real on this thread?

Simple logic really....the XB1 DOES NOT have the WW brand recognition that Sony does. Sony had Euroupe and Japan to fall back on to catch the 360. The XB1 does not have that so unless it starts outselling the PS4 by like 5 or 6 to 1 in the US then it won't catch the Ps4. Does that mean the XB1 will do bad? No it just means it won't sell as much as the Ps4 which is fine.....not sure what is so hard to understand about this....
Side note...DANG IT I know I said I was going to post in this thread anymore but this ONE post just made me have to.....okay I am done now back to just reading the posts lol.

I grow weary of that argument so i'll just leave one thing here; the fact that Sony did it only proves Sony can do it again if necessary. Nintendo never pulled it off and MS didn't do it when it "needed" either (OG). It's not impossible, it's a 1 in a billion chance.

No, by my logic if the PS4 dominates every region it had last gen, by massively wider margers, in order for the xb to come close, it needs its own region with similar margins.
The reason the PS3 was able to catch up and tie(possibly win) world wide is because it had regions that it was strong in to counter the xb360's strength in north america. The ps3 was never able to catch the 360 in the US.
Its different this time a(360), and now its about 3-1 with a margin getting larger by the week and north america really is the only true battleground.
